Everything we know about Moana 2: Official Release Date, Trailer, and More!

What will the plot of this animated sequel be? Dwayne Johnson (Fast & Furious Presents: Hobbs & Shaw), Auli’i Cravalho, and Jemaine Clement provided the voices for Disney’s 2016 adventure film Moana. Following a young Polynesian girl named Pippi, a young demigod named Maui (Johnson) and a mystical relic back to its rightful owner, the film followed Pippi.

Lin-Manuel Miranda (Mary Poppins Returns) wrote some of the songs for Moana, which featured great characters, an emotional story, beautiful visual effects, and catchy musical performances. Even though the film would change dramatically during development, Taika Waititi (Thor: Ragnarok) wrote a premature version of the script as well. The film went on to be a worldwide hit and was nominated for an Academy Award for Best Animated Feature for its success.

It’s safe to assume that a sequel to Moana is sure to happen, so here’s what we know so far about the project.

However, in recent years, Walt Disney Animation Studios has become more responsive in this approach, attempting to make follow-ups like Ralph Breaks the Internet and Frozen 2 despite their personal taste for original animated features. Moana 2 has yet to be formally announced, even after the original’s critical and commercial success.

What Is Moana 2’s Story?

Lin-Manuel Miranda is seen to have met with Disney about a remake featuring a Latina princess, but the studio has yet to confirm Moana 2. To date, neither the studio nor Miranda have confirmed that this is the plan. This would be a significant first for the company. To know More about the Moana 2, visit Keeperfacts
