On the occasion of San Diego Comic-Con 2020, during the panel dedicated to the series, the announcement that The Boys will have a third season came as a surprise. Amazon is determined not to lose za real success, and so it dropped the bomb even before season 2 had debuted. Vernon Sanders of Amazon Studios said, as reported by Deadline, about the renewal:
“Eric Kripke and the incredible cast of The Boys continue to bring us an action-packed series full of surprises and must-see moments that have made the show a global hit. We couldn’t be more excited to see Eric take the Boys and Supers into season three.”
In the second chapter, we find the Boys on the run from the law and the Seven as they try to regroup to counterattack Vought.
The Boys 3: Release Date
Given the early renewal, we still can’t say when The Boys 3 season comes out. The writers’ room got to work last summer, and the plan was to start production in early 2021, possibly making a late summer/early fall debut possible, as it was for previous chapters. In February 2021, the cast returned to the Toronto set. At the moment, we have no other information regarding the release date, but we will keep you updated with any news.
The Boys Season 3: Plot
Billy and his companions sadly fail miserably against the organization. In the meantime, he comes into possession of disturbing information on Stormfront, now particularly attached to Patriot. The Super duo manages to turn little Ryan against Becca, who turns to Butcher for help. Once the boy is separated from his father, Stormfront is on the verge of killing the mother.
At that moment, Ryan takes out all his anger and ends up mutilating the Super. His powers, however, also affect Becca, who dies. It’s up to Butcher to take care of him while Patriot is put in check by Maeve. The situation seems more under control. But a new villain is rising on the horizon: Victoria Neuman is responsible for all the blown heads, and Hughie is now in her employ, oblivious to everything.
