Dragon Ball Season 2 Confirmed! Release date, teaser, spoilers and more!

Since its debut as a comic in 1984, “Dragon Ball” has been one of the most popular media franchises. Over the years, it has been adapted into different anime series, movies, and even video games, and there seems to be endless stories. “Dragon Ball” centers on the Goku who has a monkey tail and has many superpowers.

He met a brave girl named Bulma, and the two began looking for seven powerful dragon balls. Once these balls get together, they could realize any wish. Goku eventually trained with Master Roshi to learn martial arts, where he also met his best friend Krillin. these years. Goku and his friends had a lot of adventures, made new friends (and enemies), and had a lot of fun.

One of the most successful series in the “Dragon Ball” anime is called “Dragon Ball Super”, which debuted back in 2015 after the severe failure of Majin Bu. According to anime news network, “Dragon Ball Super” has aired 131 episodes until it was cancelled in 2018. Until recently, there has been no update on the popular spin-off series.

Toei Animation announced that the second part of “Dragon Ball Super” will be released in 2022, making many fans guess whether there will be another season of the anime series to match it. So far, this is what we know about the second season of “Dragon Ball Super”.

When is season 2 going to be out?

There is no official announcement regarding the second season of “Dragon Ball Super,” but fans can expect it to premiere in the next year or two. The next movie “Dragon Ball Super” will be released in 2022, and Toei Animation’s release time may be slightly expanded. Since the first “Dragon Ball Super: Broly” premiered in December, perhaps the next movie will also debut in winter.

International Business Times has predicted the releasse as early as 2023, reportedely because of an interview given by Toei animator Florence Jay Domingueto who gave a hint at the future of “Dragon Ball Super.” In a recent interview in the website of Dragon Ball, Domingueto relayed about his hopes for the future of the Dragon Ball. He added, “As a fan, I am looking forward to seeing new movies and products. I am also excited about the new anime and continue with Dragon Ball Super.

The fans think this means that the second season of” Dragon Ball Super” is definitely on its way, but as IBT pointed out, there may be errors in the translation, Japanese social media influencer and translator, Ken Xyro pointed out what the Toei animator actually meant, – “I’m also very ecstatic to see if there will be a fresh sequel to the Dragon Ball Super TV.” Whether it’s an accidental mistake or a rogue rumor, it’s clear fans want more ‘Dragon Ball Super,’ and they are eagerly awaiting the notification.

Why has it taken so long?

One of the reasons for the delay is COVID19, which explains the filming and production of all the shows and movies. As the world slowly adjusts to the new normal, unfinished projects are taking on new lives. Another possible reason could be that Toei Animation studio is currently working on another animated movies like “One Piece: Run.” The “Dragon Ball Super” staff were busy with the “One Piece” movie in 2018 and 2019.

What to expect from season 2?

Although there have been no new episodes of “Dragon Ball Super” since 2018, the comic adaptation of the same name is still very strong, and two possible TV adaptations are in production. The series ends with a Universal Survival. If you have read the comics, you will know that the next story is the Prisoner of the Galaxy Patrol, which has a terrifying new goat head monster. Granola Survivor is the current story in the “Dragon Ball Super” comics, which tells the last survivor of the race wiped out by the Saiyan army. If any os this legend is adapted into TV, look forward to a lot of exciting fighting scenes. Of course, Toei can make a brand new bow specifically for the show. We will have to pray before they officially announce it. Fortunately, fans can watch “Dragon Ball Super” on streaming platforms such as Funimation and Crunchyroll while waiting for the update.
