The wait of all anime fans who have been impatient to know the release date of Re:Zero Season 3 is finally over.

The Re:Zero- Starting Life in Another World- Second Season special event that was streamed live on YouTube featured Yusuke Kobayashi and Rie Takahashi. The official announcement of the premiere date was made in this event along with which they also revealed additional details about the second season of the Re:Zero anime show that happened to be an early christmas present for the viewers.

The Delayal Of The Second Season Of The Re:Zero Anime

Since the pandemic hit, the release date of the Re:Zero Season 2 which was scheduled in April 2020 was postponed, disappointing the viewers. The broadcast of the show was delayed until the summer 2020 anime season in July 2020.

News came in from the staff working at White Fox that one of the reasons behind the delay of the broadcasting of the show was also because the production was outsourced to Chinese companies at that period of time.

“Original work was done in Japan but painting and specific animation were produced by outsourcing companies in China whose production was affected by attendance restrictions due to the impact of the epidemic,” a statement by White Fox staff members.

COVID-19 had a negative impact on the whole anime industry which could possibly be another explanation as to why the release date of Re: Zero Season 2 Part 2 got postponed  and the audiences had to wait for a long time. The ongoing COVID-19 pandemic also had an effect on the schedules of several studios due to virus’ cascading effects.

The lockdown or the national state of emergency was lifted by the Honourable Prime Minister Shinzo Abe of Japan. However, the pandemic and the coronavirus still had a terrible effect on the overall functioning and productivity. A report came in through Mantan-Web stating that a lot of staff working inside the anime industry claimed that shooting the scenes takes double the time it took earlier. Moreover, creating dubbed versions of the episodes is taking as long as three times the duration and efforts it took in the past when things were normal.

Besides Re:Zero Starting Life In Another World Season 2, there were numerous other popular anime shows that had to be postponed due to the deadly coronavirus pandemic since the shoots that were scheduled at that time got cancelled and the pending work could not be finished. Black Clover, Pokemon Journeys: The Series, No Guns Life Part 2, Sword Art Online: Alicization ~War of Underworld~ Season 1, The Promised Neverland Season 2, Slime Diaries Season 1, Haikyuu!! Season 4, to name a few, were one of the shows that had to suffer a delay in their launch.
