Legacies Season 9: Actress Leaves Show In Mid-Season

On the night, The CW aired the midseason finale of the fourth season of Legacies. Following the broadcast, TVLine learned exclusively that one of the historic actresses would be leaving the TV series. We are talking about Kaylee Bryant, who since 2018, or since Legacies debuted, plays Josie Saltzman, one of the daughters of Caroline and Alaric. In the new chapter, we find Hope, more determined than ever to defeat Malivore. Although she relies on her friends, most likely to complete this mission alone.

The actress will no longer be a regular in the spin-off of The Vampire Diaries. Does this mean that we will be able to see her again in the future? TVLine put the question to Julie Plec, executive producer of the show, who made it clear that the doors will always be open for Kaylee.

“The world is just a better place with Josie.” Julie Plec said.

In addition to the words of the producer of Legacies, we also report those of Kaylee Bryant, who greeted everyone with a post on her Instagram profile:

“As a fan of The Vampire Diaries universe, I thank The CW and Warner Bros TV for giving me this opportunity. I am truly grateful to the fans, and I will always love them, for welcoming and accepting me in this world. Josie has helped so many beautiful people to feel comfortable with their sexuality and I hope her legacy lives on so that one day everyone feels free to love anyone, regardless of gender.”

Actress Exits

In recent episodes of Legacies, the character of Kaylee Bryant, Josie, has gradually taken away from the Savior School, moved by Damon and Elena, and attending Mystic Falls High. Eventually, she returned home, but with a new awareness: by staying there, she would never be able to live a life of her own.

During the mid-season finale, she decides to leave the city. Although she believes there is still some good in Hope, she doesn’t know how to help her, staying in a toxic environment like the Salvatore School.

The spin-off of The Vampire Diaries and The Originals was created by Julie Plec, who also took care of the script of a few episodes as well as of the production together with executive producers Brett Matthews, Leslie Morganstein, and Gina Girolamo. Legacies is a product of  Warner Bros. Television and CBS Television Studios, in association with My So-Called Television and Alloy Entertainment.
