Two years have passed since the second season of “Barry” and fans are eagerly awaiting the third season of the HBO series. The tragic comedy directed by Bill Hader and Alec Berg stars Hader as Barry Berkman, a former Marine turned professional hitman. But while he’s employed, Barry decides to leave his dark and grim life behind to become an actor. This dream, of course, doesn’t go as planned, as Barry’s criminal life conflicts together with his fight for the stage.
“Barry” became an award-winning critical hit on HBO and Hader. In 2019, Hader won the Emmy for Outstanding Lead Actor during a Comedy Series, and therefore the series’ second season features a critical rating of 100 percent on Rotten Tomatoes. HBO even lit the show’s third season green while the second season was on the air (via The Hollywood Reporter). While we’ve not received a politician release date for season 3 yet, Hader did share some excellent news about season 3, also as a possible season 4 in an interview with Collider.
Only one month of the shooting remains!
Fans of the hopeful actor-turned-hitman won’t need to wait long for the show to return. chatting with Collider, Bill Hader said there was only a month left to shoot next season. Within the interview, he also confirmed that fans can anticipate eight episodes, of which five were directed by Hader himself, which shouldn’t come to the maximum amount of a surprise.
After all, Hader was behind the director’s chair for a couple of episodes of previous seasons. It is good to understand that the assembly of the ultimate season of “Barry” is nearing completion, especially since the COVID19 pandemic has been suspended for the nonce and every one filming has been postponed until the deadline.
However, the show’s hiatus wasn’t vainly, as Hader acknowledged earlier this year on “Late Night with Seth Meyers” that the script for “Barry” season 4 is now complete. When asked in Collider’s interview after season four, Hader said that completing the script caused him and therefore the series’ writers to form some significant changes in season three.
“We planned season 4 then we went back and began adding things in season 3 that would be in season 4 and it had been really helpful,” he said in an interview with Collider in season 3, within the end, we did tons of completely revised elements because we wrote [Season 4]. “Season 4 of Barry was also not officially recorded by HBO, but given the success of the series so far , it’s likely that HBO also will launch it.
