The animated series based on Natsuki Takaya’s manga has finally arrived with season 2 after a long wait. Yes, really! You guessed it right. We’re talking about the much-discussed Fruits Basket show, Studio Deen is producing the series and the show will air on TV Tokyo, TVO, and TVA. 

The story behind this show’s launch dates back to 2001 when the first anime knockoff of this 26-episode manga was released for the show in 2002. However, TMS Entertainment and Funimation created a modified script and relaunched the classic anime on April 6, 2019, with 25 episodes. This time, the show was highly appreciated by viewers and was considered one of the best anime of 2019. The popularity of the 2019 version was its resemblance to the manga, as opposed to the 2001 adaptation. Season 2 release date

The original Fruit Basket Season 2 was released in April 2002, but the show returned in 2019. Shortly after the new Fruit Basket Season 1 ended, Season 2 was quickly announced. The good news for all the fans is that the second season has been released. It aired on Japanese TV at 1:30 a.m. on April 6, 2020.

The plot of the show

The Fruit Basket is a romantic supernatural legend that includes the stories of the Tohru Honda and Soma families. Tohru Honda is a very poor girl who lives in a tent. After the death of his mother, he had to stay with the Soma family. 

The plot takes a turn when an innocent girl, oblivious to the supernatural things that surround her, discovers the strange family secret of the Soma clan. The 12 members of the Soma family are possessed by the spirits of Chinese zodiac animals and transformed into their zodiac animals when weak, stressed or hugged by the opposite sex. 

In the second season, we saw Yuki and Tohru discover the true meaning of their lives and understand the relationship between people. They also reveal their deep and secret feelings for each other and elevate the romance to give us goosebumps.
