Season 3 of Call of Duty: Warzone has finally arrived, bringing with it new maps, new weapons, a new Gulag, and a multitude of gameplay balance and bug fixes. Also, what about those snipers who have dominated the game?
As a result of the nerf, weapons that can kill you with a single hit are now much more elusive, especially since the range is more important than ever.
All of this and more will alter the strategies you’ll need to employ in Call of Duty: Warzone Season 3, and we’ve listed the five most significant changes, along with the full patch notes, so you can find out everything you need to know to once again dominate the game.
As with all previous major Warzone updates, Season 3 will feature brand-new map changes. To begin with, there is a brand-new Gulag named Hold. This is the interior of a ship moored off the coast, and you will need to learn a new layout for one-on-one combat.
The Dig Site can be found between the Mine and Ruins regions. Due to the skeletons and monstrous creatures, this evokes memories of Apex Legends’ Kings Canyon and Skulltown. You can find Supply Boxes and other items hidden among the bones and tents while avoiding enemy fire.
In addition, a few adjustments have been made to existing locations, such as Peak, Runway, and Lagoon. Log in and visit this page to learn what has changed and how your strategy should be adjusted.
The new mode, Caldera Iron Trials, is introduced.
If you have played Warzone for some time, you will recall the Iron Trials. This is a remixed version of the battle royale mode, with no free Loadout Drops, select vehicles, increased Buy Station prices, increased health and health regeneration, and rarer loot.
There are a few other changes coming to the new Iron Trials mode for Caldera, but it’s a great way to revitalize the Call of Duty: Warzone experience.
Regular players are already familiar with the agony of logging in online and being sniped before they can orient themselves, especially if they have just arrived from the Gulag. With sniper nerfs, however, this is less likely to occur.
Generally speaking, sniper rifles still have the ability to kill an opponent with a single shot, but due to changes in damage ranges, this is much less likely than it once was. Below is a comprehensive breakdown of which sniper rifles should be used for one-shot kills.
Snipers That Can Kill With a Single Headshot Within the Max Damage Range:
Assault Rifle Charlie (MW).
SP-R 208 (MW).
Pellington 703 (BOCW).
Swiss K31 (BOCW).
Type 99 (VG).
Snipers That Can Kill With a Single Headshot at Any Range:
Charlie’s Sniper Rifle Sniper (MW).
ZRG 20mm (BOCW).
3-Line Rifle (VG).
Gorenko Anti-Tank Rifle (VG).
Snipers Who Cannot Kill With a Single Headshot:
Rytec AMR (MW).
Sniper Rifle Alpha (MW).
Charlie’s Sniper Rifle Sniper (BOCW).
High-Value Plunder Areas
You have already participated in Public Events such as Cash Drops. Typically, these randomly occurring events on the map will entice you with the promise of unique loot or cash. In addition to Rebirth Supply Boxes, you’ll find rarer loot this time.
Jumping into a High-Value Loot Zone is risky due to the likelihood that other players will do the same, but it’s also an excellent opportunity to rack up kills on the scoreboard.
A new season brings to the battlefield two brand-new weapons. Here we have the Marksman Rifle M1916 (VG). Compared to other Marksman Rifles, this one is semi-automatic, powerful, and has a rapid rate of fire.
The other new weapon added this season is the Nikita AVT: Assault Rifle (VG), a potent AR that can overwhelm mid-range opponents.

While the Kar98 nerf is harsh, some players believe Raven Software’s decision was inevitable: “Yeah, it’s a harsh nerf BUT they’ve been overpowered for ages.”
Every Operator will enter the area equipped with their Custom Loadout, a Gas Mask, and one Redeploy Extraction Token. The pool of available items has undergone some subtle alterations, with an increased emphasis placed on weapons and gear that range from epic to legendary in rarity.
