Kevin Love of the NBA and Kate Bock, a former Victoria’s Secret model, tied the knot on June 25 in a lavish ceremony at the New York Public Library.
The 34-year-old model, entrepreneur, and founder of Love Kate tells PEOPLE exclusively, “The city is so much a part of our story and it felt so right to bring all of our favorite people together into such an iconic New York City institution.”
Since Kevin and I share an insatiable appetite for learning and an appreciation for the arts and history, we find the New York Public Library to be the perfect place to spend quality time together.
It is so representative of our beloved New York that it conjures up the city’s classic glamour just as we had hoped. We also appreciate its proximity to the St. Regis Hotel, the site of our very first date.
Bock claims that the couple had their wedding planned by Marcy Blum(Instagram), who transformed the classic New York City venue into a “Great Gatsby-inspired ball” for which guests were required to dress in black and white.
‘We thought it was chic, timeless, and elegant,’ she tells PEOPLE.
Traditional and Elegant
The bride was stunned in a Ralph Lauren custom “traditional and elegant” gown, shoes, jewelry, and a cathedral-length veil for the ceremony. Lisa Aharon did Bock’s make-up, and Adam Maclay did her hair.
“My wedding dress was influenced by Grace Kelly’s,” Bock tells PEOPLE. She was an unforgettable icon and a source of endless motivation for me. After seeing the dress in person for the first time, all I could think was, “This is art.” It’s one of a kind, royal, and absolutely breathtaking.

She went on to say that designing her wedding dress with the prestigious American label was like “working with a fairy godmother” because “there is no brand more timeless and chic,” which is exactly what she had envisioned for her big day.
We worked together to create the vision for my wedding dress, which was a black-and-white ball evoking old-school New York City glamour in the spirit of The Great Gatsby, Frank Sinatra, and the Hollywood icons of the 1950s and 1960s.
They completely grasped my vision for the dress and filtered it through the legendary Ralph Lauren lens to create something truly one of a kind.

The Groom Was Also Dressed in Custom Ralph Lauren
“Kevin has a great sense of style and looks so good in a tuxedo,” says Bock. It was a lot of fun going through all of the references we had collected made our final decisions on the fabrics and colors for his outfits. Seeing him try on his suit for the first time brought the day into sharp focus.
They broke with convention by both showing up at the ceremony site at the same time.
Bock tells PEOPLE, “Kevin and I didn’t think it was important to keep things separate.” Together, we did everything from getting ready to riding over to the Library for the ceremony.
Everyone who attended the ceremony and reception then made their way to the Bryant Park Hotel’s Célon Lounge for the after-party.
Love, a professional basketball player for the Cleveland Cavaliers, proposed to the model who graced the cover of Sports Illustrated Swimsuit in January 2021. They announced their engagement on Instagram with a series of intimate black and white photos.
To put it simply, this is the greatest birthday present I could have asked for. I am overjoyed to have been selected as a Love. Bock wrote at the time, “Heart bursting all day & night,” while showing off her diamond engagement ring.

Style and Taste
They are on the same page, Bock told PEOPLE in February, when asked about the wedding plans between her and Love.
She said, “I’m very lucky that we both have the same style and taste when it comes to home decor, weddings, and fashion.” Fortunately, not many arguments have been raised about it. For a long time, we’ve been planning the perfect party to celebrate with our loved ones, and now it’s finally coming together.
We both had very different upbringings, beginning in different states and then moving on to other countries and finally settling in many different states as our careers progressed. We’re happy to have everyone in one place after having members spread out across the globe.
Love said the same thing in April when he told PEOPLE that he and Bock “both feel like we’ve just been really excited to get married through this whole process.”
While the ceremony is important, my fiancé and I have always said that this day is truly about the two of us. The two of us want to make it about our lives and all of our friends in it,” he said.
As a result, we’re going to have a party to commemorate the success of establishing and maintaining those connections between people. I think that’s the way it ought to be paraphrased.
After working together on a photo shoot in New York in 2016, the photographer introduced the couple. Love and Bock invited Architectural Digest to their New York apartment in December of 2020.
The couple asked that, in lieu of traditional wedding gifts, contributions be made to the Kevin Love Fund, which supports initiatives to reduce the social stigma of mental illness.
