The relationship between Charlie Puth and Jungkook is just horrible. Puth’s new track, “Left And Right,” features a couple who are so caught up in regret over “the one that got away” that not even a trip to the Love Doctor can make them feel better in the music video.
The lighthearted and heartfelt track featuring the BTS sensation is featured on Puth’s next album Charlie. In the video, both Puth and Jungkook’s minds are consumed by their exes, so they decide to seek help from a man they refer to as “the Love Doctor.”
The chorus goes like this: “Memories follow me left and right/I can feel you over here, I can feel you over here/You take over every corner of my head.”
Furthermore, the video includes a QR code and a unique phone number that fans can text to get exclusive information from Puth. (There is also some not-so-subtle product promotion for the Gen Z-targeted finance business Chime, but we’ll let it slide.)
Earlier this year, Puth released the singles “Light Switch” and “That’s Hilarious.” “Left And Right” follows in their footsteps. Puth is scheduled to appear on NBC’s show on Friday, July 8; however, a tour in support of Charlie has not yet been planned.
Meanwhile, BTS just stated that they will be taking a break from the group to pursue individual projects. In a prerecorded video, Jungkook explained the group’s decision: “We’re each going to take some time to have fun and explore plenty of things.” When we come back, we’ll be older and wiser.
Charlie Puth and Jungkook of BTS’s “Left and Right”
Only two weeks after BTS’s announcement that they will be spending time apart to work on solo projects did Jungkook strike out on his own to collaborate with Charlie Puth on the infectious new tune “Left and Right,” which dropped the first thing on Friday (June 24).
Over a catchy melody, Puth and the BTS singer sing, “Memories follow me left and right/ I can feel you over here/ I can feel you over here/ You take over every corner of my mind.”
A bright music video was also promised by the pair, and a teaser for it was released on Thursday. In it, Puth and the youngest member of BTS can be seen both together and separately, wistfully remembering a lost love.
Last week, Puth promised to release the Jungkook collaboration on June 24 if he reached 500,000 pre-saves for the song, and apparently, ARMY came through according to pinkvilla.
Puth’s third single of 2022, “Left and Right,” serves as a prelude to his upcoming third solo album for Atlantic Records, simply titled Charlie. After releasing “That’s Hilarious” in April, the pop singer/songwriter returned in May with “Light Switch,” which has reached No. 27 on the Billboard Hot 100.
Despite BTS’s shocking June 14 statement that they were going on sabbatical to work on solo projects, Jungkook reassured the concerned ARMY by saying that the group was not breaking up. According to a representative, Jungkook assured fans in a Livestream video that the group would not disband, but would instead devote time to individual projects.
Jungkook of BTS and Charlie Puth tease their new song “Left and Right,” which comes out tonight.
Now that fans have had time to process the news of BTS’ hiatus, they won’t be kept waiting long by Jungkook. To kick off his solo career, the performer has collaborated with Charlie Puth on a new song titled “Left and Right,” which will be released on Thursday, October 5 at 12:00 AM ET.
On Thursday morning, Puth shared two videos, both of which included the duo’s catchy new pop single. One of them seems to be a preview of the music video for the song, which will also be released at midnight.
