In a New Blog Post Zack Snyder Says That Henry Cavill Is His “Future” Superman!

Batman the Flash

Within the DCU, the only thing that is guaranteed is change. Warner Bros. adopted a new course with their DC Comics-related films and programs after the 2021 debut of Zack Snyder’s Justice League.

That is, prior to the merger between Warner Bros. and Discovery. The future is uncertain, but fans know the new studio president wants more Superman and to be like Marvel Studios’ Kevin Feige. Current thinking, though, suggests that the franchise’s future may actually rest in its past.

In contrast to the recent and upcoming DC films by Warner Bros., which focus on Batman, the last major Superman picture was Zack Snyder’s Man of Steel, starring Henry Cavill.

Man of Steel (2013) was Cavill and Snyder’s first collaboration, while Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice (2016) was their second. The studio’s handling of Snyder in 2017’s Justice League led to Zack Snyder’s Justice League, which aired on HBO Max in 2021 and completed Cavill’s Snyder-led trilogy.

After Warner Bros. Discovery expressed interest in reviving the Superman franchise, speculation increased over whether or not Henry Cavill will return to the role of the Last Son of Krypton. However, the story has just been given an unexpected turn thanks to a post by Zack Snyder.

Henry Cavill Is Zack Snyder’s “Future” Superman!

On June 12th, in honor of Superman Day, Man of Steel director Zack Snyder posted a photo of himself and Henry Cavill to Vero, calling Cavill his “future” Superman according to geektyrant.

Is Cavill Reviving Superman?

Zack Snyder’s DC chapter appeared to be over after the release of Snyder’s edit of Justice League and before the release of Ezra Miller‘s The Flash, and this is probably still the case.

The director has been extremely busy with a number of new projects, such as Rebel Moon and The Fountainhead, in addition to the Army of the Dead series. Snyder Cut fans are still holding out hope that the director and Henry Cavill will be involved in the studio’s Superman reboot, as suggested by the caption.

Although this wouldn’t have been possible a few months ago, Warner Bros. has just undergone some personnel changes, and their cult following is undeniable.

Still, Snyder’s comment might be viewed from other angles.

Since Ben Affleck’s Batman and Michael Shannon’s Zod will be in the 2023 film The Flash, another, more plausible interpretation is that Cavill will reprise his role as Superman. Fans have certainly hoped for this, and it would be great for the film’s reputation if Cavill were cast in the role, what with Ezra Miller’s ongoing legal troubles and recast speculations.

Snyder’s comment might also be interpreted to signify that Cavill’s Superman is the definitive version of the character for the director.

It’s unclear which, if any, of these potential readings is correct. Again, Snyder’s post adds to the ongoing dialogue over Superman’s cinematic future, and it’s safe to assume that DC fans will be keeping a close eye on Man of Steel director Zack Snyder and actor Henry Cavill in the years to come. As a precaution, if you will.

Will Ben Affleck Play Batman Again After the Flash?

Even after his rumored last appearance as Batman in Andy Muschietti’s The Flash, it appears that Warner Bros.

Still has some hope for Ben Affleck to continue playing the role in the DC Extended Universe. Even if this doesn’t provide any hard evidence that he’s back, it also doesn’t mean he’s being completely wiped.

Will Ben Affleck Be in the New Flash Movie?

The forthcoming The Flash film will be his final appearance, at least for the time being. Recent speculation, however, suggests that Affleck’s time in the cowl may not be over just yet.
