Pharrell William’s “Something in the Water Music Festival 2022” in the Nation’s Capital!

Pharrell Lanscilo Williams is a multi-talented American artist who has released music as a rapper, producer, singer, songwriter, and businessman. Pharrell Williams’s Something in the Water Festival was relocated to the nation’s capital with no ill will on his part.

Williams brought Usher, Justin Timberlake, J Balvin, the Dave Matthews Band, and Calvin Harris to the North American leg of his Vans Warped Tour after getting into a heated dispute with local officials in his native Virginia Beach, Virginia over the murder of his cousin the year prior.

Williams also wanted to have a big celebration for Juneteenth in the nation’s capital, so he planned a three-day extravaganza that began on Friday with a huge block party on Independence Avenue.

If the thought of 25,000 people (a number confirmed by Washington, DC police and fire departments) crammed onto a single street in front of three stages gives you a headache, rest assured that it was a logistical nightmare.

Headliner Usher’s late set at the 2022 Something in the Water event enthralled the full house despite his tardiness.

HBO Documentary

A new HBO documentary explores the life and music of Cypress Hill through the lens of marijuana.

Combine that with temps in the 90s till far after sunset and the unforgivable delays in later sets by Lucky Daye, Lil Baby, and Anderson.

Paak & the Free Nationals, Usher (T.I. was supposed to perform on Friday but was rescheduled for Saturday, and Q-Tip and SZA won’t be there this weekend), and a lot of chaos.

It was a night of squeezing between crowds of people as they tried to make their way from one stage to another (the Sun, the Moon, and the Earth) and avoiding falling asleep on the concrete as the night wore on.

However, the police and fire departments were well-represented, and a First Aid tent stood out.

At 10:35 p.m. ET, fans were already complaining that Usher, T.I., and Anderson had yet to perform.

Paak, all of whom were supposed to play between 9 and 10:15 p.m., complained about social media about the venue’s tight quarters.

One festival-goer wrote, “I hope y’all have a come to Jesus’ moment with the organizing crew tonight so that the rest of the event will be well-organized.” There were “too many fainting, too many erroneous set times, limited roads, hard admittance process… Just zero out of ten for tonight.

Pharrell Met Up With Pal Justin

“The flow of people is bad, you can’t move, the staff doesn’t know the answers, and they’re not on time. I adore @Pharrell but Washington, DC is not a festival venue.

This weekend’s venue is likely to be unchangeable, especially because festival organizers have been silent on the matter of set delay causes.

Pharrell met up with his pal Justin Timberlake at Timberlake’s Something in the Water Festival. Timberlake will be performing with the rest of the program on June 18.

Early on, Latin trap star Ozuna, whose music is perfect for dance floors and festivals, captivated a large crowd with his spinning and hopping to songs like “Del Mar” and “Taki Taki,” encouraging them to create a wave of bobbing hands.

Twenty minutes late and covered in diamonds, Lil Baby took the stage and sped through a setlist of his greatest hits while rapping to a backing track for roughly 25 minutes. He pounded out song after song, from the singalong “We Paid” to the more pop-leaning “Close Friends,” while the crowd chanted along.

Water Festival in Washington

Lucky Daye, who is known for his soothing R&B, replaced T.I. on the Earth stage, the only one without TV screens for the overflow, who made up the vast bulk of the crowd.

After the sun had fallen on the Something in the Water festival in Washington, DC on June 17, Lucky Daye took the stage.

As well as airing live on Amazon Prime and Twitch, Saturday’s Something in the Water has performances by Lil Uzi Vert, Jon Batiste, Williams, and “Friends,” which also features Justin Timberlake. An appealing selling point is that it eliminates the hassles often associated with this process.
