‘Black Panther: Wakanda Forever’ Actress Met Deadly Accident On Sets

The filming of “Black Panther 2” has long been done. Now an actress has injured herself during the production of the Marvel film.

After a long wait, filming for “Black Panther: Wakanda Forever” finally started at the end of June 2021. The plot of the Marvel film is still kept under lock and key, but a first video from the set could indicate that we will see T’Challa’s ( Chadwick Boseman ) final resting place. The surprising and tragic death of Boseman last year messed up the film’s planning and will keep the characters busy as well.

One of these characters is undoubtedly Shuri ( Letitia Wright ), the younger sister of T’Challa. She has also appeared in “Black Panther” and several other films in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU). As Deadline now reports, Letitia Wright was slightly injured while filming “Black Panther 2”. The actress sustained the injury during a stunt, a Marvel spokesperson said.

The Shooting Of “Black Panther: Wakanda Forever” Should Not Be Delayed

The actress was immediately rushed to a hospital near the set in Boston. In the meantime, however, Wright has been released. Accordingly, the accident should not have any impact on the planned filming. So nothing should change about the planned theatrical release on July 8, 2022.

In addition to well-known characters such as Everett K. Ross ( Martin Freeman ), W’Kabi ( Daniel Kaluuya ), and Nakia ( Lupita Nyong’o), Marvel fans can also expect some newcomers. Most certainly, Riri Williams ( Dominique Thorne ) stands out. Better known as Ironheart, she will succeed Iron Man in the MCU.

She will make her debut in “Black Panther: Wakanda Forever” before the character is examined in more detail in her series “Ironheart. ” Just like “Ms. Marvel, “She-Hulk,” and “Moon Knight, “the Marvel series aims to introduce viewers to the new heroes.

Iron Man’s Successor In Black Panther 2

In an interview with ComicBook.com, MCU boss Kevin Feige confirmed the rumors circulating for some time. Namely that the character Riri Williams ( Dominique Thorne ) will celebrate her MCU debut, not in her series Ironheart, but Black Panther: Wakanda Forever.

“We are currently shooting ‘Black Panther: Wakanda Forever and the character Riri. You will meet Williams for the first time in ‘Black Panther 2’. I think she started filming this week before her ‘Ironheart’ series.”
