Plot

And, while we know what occurs next in the manga series, we don’t know what will happen in the second (and maybe third and fourth seasons) season of Dorohedoro since we don’t know how many chapters that season will adapt.

The sheer number of chapters remains a mystery, therefore we cannot speculate on the substance. We don’t know how much of the now-published material the producers will adapt, nor how many episodes will be included in the second season.

As a result, we can’t truly guess about any specific narrative specifics. The series takes place in three worlds: Hole, a sprawling human-inhabited favela-like city heavily polluted by wizard magic; Wizard World, vibrant land of magic users controlled by the wizard boss En; and Hell.

Dorohedoro Season 2

A torturous underworld inhabited by all deceased wizards and ruled by demons presided over by the head demon Chidaruma. Humans and wizards appear to be the same species at first glance, yet they are not. The former arose organically, but the latter descended from Chidaruma, a primordial fiend.

Wizards have a specialised circulatory system that allows them to create “smoke,” the source of their extraordinary magical abilities. Most wizards have minor abilities, but others have considerably higher abilities, such as reviving the dead or manipulating time; these abilities are extremely rare and greatly sought.

The amount of smoke a wizard can produce impacts the potency of their magical skills. Many wizards attempt to boost their smoke production by surgical operations or, more often, the unlawful usage of black powder, a smoke-enhancing substance sold by criminals.

Smoke may also be purchased and sold in the same way that magic can be pawned, with the sold magic having the same effects as the cast magic. Both the enchanted realm and the Hole are lawless.

Dorohedoro Season 2

Previously, vicious vigilantes controlled Hole, torturing and killing suspected wizards and their families. These vigilantes, however, have since disbanded, leaving Hole’s residents essentially unable to prevent wizards from experimenting on and killing them, to the point that specialist clinics are required to treat human victims of magical attacks.

Furthermore, human traffickers used to rule the magical sphere, extracting magic from wizards for resale before disposing of their corpses. En is one of the few surviving victims of these schemes, and he finally tore down the realm to establish himself as the magical world’s reigning mafia lord.

The realms are structured similarly to a caste system: Demons hold the highest rank, are deeply respected and revered by the wizards, and obey Chidaruma’s orders; within the wizards, there is a hierarchical system in which powerful magic users live in luxury by selling their skills, while wizards who are weaker, unskilled, or have less desirable magic can live in abject poverty in their world; and at the bottom are the people forced to live in the

How Many Seasons Are There?

Currently, Dorohedoro has only one season with a total of 12 episodes. It wasn’t until May 2020 that the anime was released outside of Japan.

The quality of the series was recognized by Netflix and was released as a Netflix original. Season 1 of this anime is available on Netflix in most countries/regions. In addition to the twelve episodes, Dorohedoro also has six different OVAs.

Will There Be a Dorohedoro Season 2?

The Dorohedoro manga is finished and has achieved enormous popularity. The first volume was published in 2002 and continues till 2018. The manga is divided into 23 volumes. The anime’s first season is nowhere near the finish of the manga.

Season 1 actually only covers around one-third of the complete plot as told in the manga chapters. The cartoon gained a lot of praise from the audience once it was published on Netflix in 2020.

As a result, even if no official announcement regarding season 1 has been made, the second season of Dorohedoro is quite possible. The epidemic has prevented several studios from releasing anime on time, and the delay in the announcement of Dorohedoro season 2 might be due to the same reason.

When Is Production on Dorohedoro Season 2 Going to Start?

The creators have not announced an official date for the beginning of production on Dorohedoro season 2. However, it’s too soon to give up hope. There’s been no word that the series has been cancelled.

Dorohedoro Season 2

A second-season renewal would be dependent on the success of the first season. Dorohedoro season 1 not only secured an 8.1/10 rating on IMDB but also managed to score a whole 100% on Rotten Tomatoes. The show’s success was therefore phenomenal.

The anime’s director, Yuichiro Hayashi, has stated that he’d start production on season 2 if the first season did well and brought back satisfactory results. If that’s true, production on Dorohedoro season 2 might be on the way soon.

Does Dorohedoro Season 2 Have a Release Date?

Currently, the manga is busy in the production of several big projects, and it might affect the production of this show. Therefore, fans can expect Dorohedoro Season 2 to release by the end of 2022 or in early 2023. Hence, keep an eye on this corner for the exact date and official renewal.
