Josh Laurent, also known as Joshua Ishaele Jacob-Heron Hunt-Laurent, is a professional football midfielder for Shrewsbury Town in England. He was born on May 6, 1995, in London, United Kingdom. He is a product of the youth programmes at Wycombe Wanderers and Queens Park Rangers.
Laurent began his career in the Redbridge and Wycombe Wanderers development systems as a midfielder and occasionally as a central defender. In 2011, he earned a scholarship contract with the latter team.
Prior to the start of the 2012–13 season, he transferred to the Queens Park Rangers academy following a trial with Premier League powerhouse Liverpool.
In the youth team’s successful 2012–13 Professional U18 Development League 2 campaign, Laurent made 20 appearances and played the entire 90 minutes of the 1-0 victory over Huddersfield Town in the championship game.
