The Kominsky Method is an American comedy-drama streaming TV show that started on November 16, 2018, and is made by Chuck Lorre. It stars Michael Douglas, Alan Arkin, Sarah Baker, Nancy Travis, Paul Reiser, and Kathleen Turner.

On August 14, 2017, it was said that Netflix was putting the finishing touches on a series order for the first season with ten episodes. Chuck Lorre, Al Higgins, and David Javerbaum were going to write the scripts for the show.

During the Television Critics Association’s annual summer press tour on July 29, 2018, it was announced that the show would start on November 16, 2018. Netflix renewed the show on July 2, 2020, for a third and last season, which came out on May 28, 2021.

Along with the news that the show would be made into a series, it was confirmed that Michael Douglas and Alan Arkin would play Sandy Kominsky and Norman, respectively.

In January 2018, it was announced that Nancy Travis and Sarah Baker had been cast as the main characters and that Susan Sullivan, Emily Osment, Graham Rogers, Ashleigh LaThrop, Jenna Lyng Adams, Melissa Tang, Casey Brown, and Lisa Edelstein would have recurring roles.

Jane Seymour, Jacqueline Bisset, and Paul Reiser were all cast in recurring roles for season two on February 7, 2019. Bisset was going to play Sandy’s ex-wife, but Kathleen Turner was chosen for the part instead. Alan Arkin won’t be back for the show’s last season, it was announced on September 23, 2020.

Region 1 stores started selling the first season on November 19, 2019, and the Warner Archive Collection is the only place to get the Blu-ray version.
