Plot of The Island Movie

On July 19, 2019, Lincoln Six Echo and Jordan Two Delta live with other people in a compound that is out in the middle of nowhere. This dystopian town has a strict set of rules that everyone has to follow.

The people who live there are told that the outside world has become too dirty to support life, except on an island that is free of pathogens. A lottery decides who gets to leave the compound and move to the island each week.

Lincoln starts to have dreams that he knows have nothing to do with his own life. A scientist named Dr. Merrick runs the compound. He is worried, so he puts probes in Lincoln’s body to track his brain activity.

Lincoln finds a live moth in a ventilation shaft when he sneaks into a power plant in the basement where technician James McCord works. This shows him that the outside world is not really contaminated.
