How to Begin Every Season Activity in Destiny 2?

Destiny 2 Season of the Lost is the most recent Beyond Light expansion installment. However, activities from Season of the Hunt, Chosen, and Splicer can still be accessed until the Witch Queen expansion is released.

New and returning players who missed out on previous Seasons can still complete these activities and earn their rewards before Season of the Lost ends. Seasons of the Hunt, Chosen, and Splicer, like Season of the Lost, contain key story details that build-up to the complete introduction of Savathun.

While each Season in Destiny 2 has a free Season Pass, those who want to access each Beyond Light Season will need to own the Beyond Light Deluxe Edition. Regardless of when it was purchased, owning this expansion grants access to Season of the Hunt, Chosen, Splicer, and Lost.

To gain access to the locations where many of these activities take place, the first missions of the Shadowkeep and Forsaken expansions on the Moon and Tangled Shore must be completed.

Having access to the Beyond Light expansion also allows players to unlock the various Umbral Engram tiers, which can be focused at the Prismatic Recaster in the HELM. For most of the last four seasons, the HELM has served as the base of operations.

Unfortunately, because much of the storyline dialogue occurs in the HELM, the passive lines characters say will almost certainly contain spoilers. Players who want to complete the activities in the correct order should start with Season of the Hunt, then Chosen, Splicer, and finally Lost.

Beginning Destiny 2 Season of the Hunt, Splicer, and Lost Activities

  • The Hunting Season

Players must complete the first missions for Shadowkeep and Forsaken before beginning Season of the Hunt. These are free missions for all players, regardless of expansion ownership.

Guardians will then travel to the Moon to complete the “Trial of the Hunted” quest. This is the Season of Hunt’s first quest, as well as the first step toward obtaining the Hawkmoon Exotic Hand Cannon.

  • The Chosen Season

Season of the Chosen activities can be started by traveling to Nessus and completing the “Battleground: Behemoth” mission.

The Battlegrounds activities in Season of the Chosen are plentiful, but they cannot be accessed in the Vanguard Strikes playlist until this quest is completed. Completing Battlegrounds in the Vanguard playlist will grant Vanguard Ranks with Destiny 2’s reworked Vanguard rewards.

  • The Splicer’s Season

Guardians can talk to the Splicer Servitor in the HELM to get the Splicer Gauntlet, which is required for the Season of the Splicer content. Speaking with the Splicer Servitor will grant the “Legacy: As Prophesied” Season of the Splicer end quest.

This quest concludes the Season of the Splicer story, but it can be completed independently at any time. The only prerequisite for completing this quest is that the current Override mission is “Override: The Last City.” Completing “Legacy: As Prophesied” grants one Ascendant Shard to each character.

  • The Lost Season

During Season of the Lost, players can enter Destiny 2 at any time to be prompted with the first mission. Season of the Lost activities is restricted to weekly releases that progress weekly.

New Season of the Lost challenges are released every week, so players should keep an eye on their XP, Bright Dust, and Wayfinder’s Compass Calibration levels.

The Season of Lost Season Passes rewards Guardians with a variety of cosmetics, shaders, and ornaments. While these rewards are not as exciting as other activities, they offer something unique. Here are all of the rewards available to Guardians during the Season of the Lost:

  • Exotic Ghost Shell for Wayfinder
  • Shotgun Fractethyst
  • Melo Chrysura
  • Finisher of Field Work
  • A Collection of Legendary Ornaments
  • The Entrance Transmat effect of Wayfinder
  • Emblem of Astral Location
