We were so looking forward to the “Powerpuff Girls” spin-off, but is the project now on the verge of cancellation?
“Powerpuff Girls”: Is The Spin-Off Cancelled?
A few months ago, we got the fantastic news that there would be a spin-off from the “Powerpuff Girls”. The original cartoon series ran from 1998 to 2005 and was a huge success. The production of the series, however, is not under any good stars. As announced, the pilot episode was not so well received and therefore has to be reshot. Doing a pilot episode twice is pretty unusual! Rumor has it that the real reason was that the script for the “Powerpuff Girls” spin-off was leaked. Even if actress Dove Cameron officially denied this. The fact is that we have to wait a lot longer for the new show. How come? One of the “Powerpuff Girls” actresses dropped her role, which has had a significant impact on the spin-off.
Bennet Turns Her Back On The “Powerpuff Girls”
The leading roles in the “Powerpuff Girls” film adaptation have Chloe Bennet (Blossom), Dove Cameron (Bubbles), and Yana Perrault (Buttercup). But now one of the girls is getting out of the series! As a result, the casting process is resumed, and a new superhero is on the lookout. But who has left the series now? Chloe Bennet, who was initially intended for the role of Blossom, has now turned her back on her role.
Warner Bros. confirms that Bennet does not have enough time to film a new pilot and the other planned episodes of the series due to scheduling conflicts. The delayed release of the “Powerpuff Girls” spin-off is now because a new Blossom has to be cast. We hope that the project is not now entirely on the brink. A new “Powerpuff Girls” series would be incredible.
The Real Reason Why Chloe Bennet Left The Show?
Chloe Bennet’s departure has surely put the Powerpuff Girls spin-off into a nasty curve. For instance, it was being said that Bennet left the show because The C.W. was not happy with the pilot of the show and wanted to do things differently. But still, fans think there’s another reason behind the exit.
A lot of fans went on social networks after the news of Bennet’s exit broke. Bennet is known for her role as Daisy ‘Quake’ Johnson in Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. A fan wrote on Twitter that Marvel’s Secret Invasion could be the project that resulted in the departure of Bennet. The character of Quake features in the comic book version of Marvel’s Secret Invasion, which makes it likely that Bennet will be a part of the new Marvel show.
