The Rogue One prequel TV series, will arrive on Disney+, revolving around the character of Cassian Andor, played by Diego Luna. Here’s everything we know about the Star Wars series.

Andor Star Wars Series: Release Date

It is not yet known precisely when the Rogue One prequel TV series will be released. The release date of the TV series of Cassian Andor has not yet been revealed, although the filming of the series is said to have started in October 2019. All we know is that the series is due out on Disney+ sometime in 2022.

Andor Star Wars Series: Plot

Along with the show Obi-Wan Kenobi, even the character Cassian Andor of Rogue One will have a TV series prequel of Disney +. Star Wars continues its franchise with these new TV series, such as the recently announced Ahsoka, Rangers of the New Republic, and The Bad Batch.

What is the Rogue One prequel Andor series about? If you’ve seen the Rogue One movie, you know that it’s sad ending shows the deaths of all the characters who took part in the theft of the Death Star’s plans to defeat the Galactic Empire.

Cassian Andor, Jyn, and the rest of the Rebellion are present on Scarif, destroyed by the death ray of the Death Star itself. For this reason, the TV series will be set in the past, and more precisely, the first advances on the plot speak of the formation of the Rebellion. Disney and Lucasfilm described the official synopsis of the Rogue One prequel :

“A thriller where tales of espionage and dangerous missions will be told to restore hope to the galaxy in the hands of the merciless Empire.”

From the set of the Andor series in Scotland come the first photos showing the scenarios of the Star Wars show. From the images, you can see the massive presence of the Empire, including turrets, bunkers, and various military structures.

Cast: Actors & Characters

The first confirmed actor was Diego Luna, who, after his role in Rogue One, returns as the rebel Cassian Andor in the series. Here are the actor’s words to The Hollywood Reporter, after learning about his return to the Star Wars universe:

“Getting back into the Star Wars universe is very important to me. I have so many memories of the wonderful work we did together and the relationships I built on this journey. We have a fantastic adventure ahead of us, and this exciting new format will give us the opportunity to explore this character more deeply.”

In addition to Diego Luna, Alan Tudyk was also confirmed in the cast. With them, Genevieve O’Reilly will again assume the role of his character in Rogue One, Mon Mothma. Other actors who have joined the cast of the Andor prequel series are Stellan Skarsgard, Kyle Stoller, and Denise Gough, although their roles have not been revealed.
