“Harry Potter” stars got their name in Hollywood; that much is straightforward because the film series brought in tons of money – also for the actors! And even if some actors hated it on the set of “Harry Potter,” they owe at least the series’ enormous popularity. This is a blessing and a curse simultaneously; after all, an actor has to slip into a completely new role for each work and convince the audience that they do not see their favorite character from film/series XYZ, but the character from the new project. While “Harry Potter” actor Daniel Radcliffe has succeeded in doing this with his many projects, another actress now seems to fail! At least if you look at the comments from the fans.

Imelda Staunton on “The Crown”

One of the absolute mega-series on Netflix is, without a doubt, “The Crown.” The series revolves around the British royals, more precisely, around Elizabeth II as Queen of England. The actors change every two seasons to reflect the passage of time. In seasons 1 and 2, Queen Elizabeth was played by Claire Foy, then Olivia Colman in seasons 3 and 4. For the last two seasons, Imelda Staunton takes on the role of the British Queen – but fans don’t seem to be entirely convinced. Because “Harry Potter” fans see actress Staunton only in one role: As nasty Prof. Dolores Umbridge from “Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix.” At least such comments are piling up under the post from the official “The Crown” account on Twitter.

“This is Dolores Umbridge, I Can’t See Anyone Else In It …”

Fans make innuendos and jokes under the post like, “She had a level-up since the war [in Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows] … I thought she was locked up in Azkaban.” Another fan writes: “Umbridge fled Hogwarts to become Queen of England.” Some fans of the show are a little annoyed by the comments. In response to a particularly dramatic comment from a fan who can only see Umbridge in the picture, the person replied, “Can’t you tell the character and the actress apart or is this a joke?” Many fans don’t think they can take on Staunton’s new role -but the show won’t continue with Season 5 until 2022, so there’s more than enough time for all of the Potterheads to get used to the new Queen!
