Activision is currently working on the next major Warzone upgrade, which will be published in December 2021. On January 19, Activision revealed Season 2 as well as a slight delay in the new content. Season 2 should, however, provide new weaponry and fixes for Warzone’s numerous faults. But when can we anticipate Season 2 to air, and what can we expect from it?
Season 2 has a lot riding on it because the Christmas upgrade, Festive Fervor, published at the end of 2021, was underwhelming and, in some cases, downright awful, so there’s a lot riding on it. Will there be new Warzone in-game events? Perhaps more multiplayer maps and Zombies improvements will be added to Vanguard? So far, here’s what we know.
When Will the Second Season of Call of Duty: Vanguard Be Released?
Season 2 was originally released on January 19, however Activision announced a 12-day delay due to persistent Warzone issues. Season 2 will be released on February 14, albeit this date may change.
Despite the fact that many upgrades have been released, Activision states that “additional work” in this area is required. “Gameplay optimizations, game balancing (including weapon and equipment balancing), game stability and bug repairs, and to ensure an overall degree of polish” will be done with the extra time.
Because the majority of key updates happen around 1 p.m. Eastern, it’s quite likely that we’ll be able to play Season 2 when it comes out on February 14.
Does Call of Duty: Vanguard Season 2 Have a Trailer?
Season 2 has yet to receive a trailer, but one will almost certainly be published closer to the season’s premiere. Season 1 began on December 9, following the publication of a trailer the day before on December 8. With that in mind, the Season 2 teaser is expected to be released on February 13, 2022.
There’s a chance a teaser trailer will arrive even sooner. We’ll update this page as more information regarding Season 2 becomes available.
What Are the Call of Duty: Vanguard Season 2 Updates?
While we don’t know what to expect from Season 2 of Warzone or Vanguard, there are a few things we — and the rest of the community — are hoping for. Aside from bug fixes and weapon balancing, we expect several changes to the Warzone playlists in Season 2. Quads is now the only Vanguard Royale option, which is a huge disadvantage if you don’t have a four-player team to participate with. You can only choose Solos, Duos, Trios, and Quads in normal Battle Royale.
New weaponry has always been a staple of previous seasons, and while this is expected to continue in Season 2, Call of Duty does not currently require any new weapons. The Vanguard integration added roughly 40 new weapons to Warzone in December 2021, so most of us are still getting used to the new options. Regardless, Season 2 will almost certainly introduce four new weapons.
Aside from that, new storey elements will almost probably be added to the broader storyline — not just in Warzone, but also in Vanguard.
In addition, a recent leak has revealed some details on the new Operators. A Twitter leaker named JulesLeaks published photos of three new Operators, one of whom resembles Awoken from Season 1 but wears a ghillie gear.
Let’s hope the Vanguard Zombies mode gets a lot better, because it was sorely lacking at the start. Vanguard may benefit from some additional 6v6 multiplayer maps in addition to Season 2.
