Will The End Of The F World return for a third season, or has the dark romance drama come to an end? Charles Forsman’s visual novel The End Of The F World, popularly known as TEOTFW, began as a graphic novel.
The comic novel TEOTFW focused on the convoluted road trip love storey between teenagers Alyssa and James, the latter a budding psychopath.
The comic ends on a dreadful note, prompting filmmaker Jonathan Entwistle to create a TEOTFW pilot short film in 2014, starring Craig Roberts of Red Oaks as James and Jessica Barden as Alyssa.
Here’s all we know about the programme right now and in the future.
About: The End of the F***ing World
In 2017, the End Of The F World TV series debuted, with Barden repeating her role as Alyssa and Alex Lawther taking over for Roberts. T
EOTFW received critical acclaim and was hailed as one of the greatest dramas of the year, but while it kept the edge of Forsman’s original material, a dash of black humour enhanced it.
The first season maintained very loyally to the graphic novel, however, it ended on a more shaky note. This culminated in a second season, which began with James and Alyssa following the events of the first, leaving the door open for The End Of The F World season three.
Will the End of the F***ing World Return for Season 3?
Nope. The existence of a third season of The End of the F***ing World has not been confirmed. Netflix and the show’s creator, Charlie Covell, do not have any plans for a third season. Charlie Covell, the creator, said, “I suppose, for me, that’s it now,” in a statement to Radio Times.
Yes, that’s finished. I believe it would be wrong to try to squeeze out any more, and I like where we’ve left it.

In addition, Covell has addressed speculation about The End of the F***ing World Season 3 and stated that she is not interested in the show getting a third season.
You won’t likely see another series, in my opinion. I hope you’ll agree with me when you reach the conclusion that sometimes it’s best to just quit things. Although I believe you can push things, this feels like the end. He apologised to NME.
The End of the F***ing World Season 3: Release Date
The new episodes won’t air until 2023 even if the show is renewed by chance.
The two seasons before this one had a two-year break between them and each previous season had eight episodes. If it does, James and Alyssa will likely be played once again by Alex Lawther and Jessica Barden.
The End of the F***ing World Season 3: Cast
Because the programme wouldn’t be able to go on without Alyssa and James, future episodes would need both Barden and Lawther to appear.
“Without both of us, it just wouldn’t work,” Barden stated (via the Guardian). “The programme is just Alyssa and James together – that’s all there is to it.”
The pair told NME that they’d love to work together again, either on TEOTFW or on another project (hopefully both!).
“I’d love to play a female Joker,” Barden continued. “I’d want to play a psychopath,” says the actor. “You could play the Joker, and I could play Harley Quinn,” Lawther continued.
The duo is in great demand as a consequence of the show’s international popularity, and they are both now working on their own projects, so bringing the foursome back together may be challenging. Lawther was apprehensive to join TEOTFW at first.
“At first, I imagined [the programme] was about a young man being aggressive toward a young lady, and I thought to myself, ‘I’m not really that interested since there’s already enough of it around,'” he told the Guardian. However, after more investigation, he remained unconvinced.
“However, I saw James morphs into something else. It’s not about his aggression toward Alyssa; it’s about him comprehending how he feels and realising that he isn’t a psychopath; he’s just very, very unhappy.” Alyssa’s mother, Gwen (Christine Bottomley), is also slated to arrive.
There’s also a potential we’ll see flashbacks of James’ late mother (Kelly Harrison) and late father (Phil Harrison) (Steve Oram).
Naomi Ackie’s appearance in future episodes is questionable because Bonnie’s involvement in this narrative looks to be completed. But, since everything is in flux right now, you never know.
The End of the F***ing World Season 3: Expected Plot
After Season 2 concluded, there were no further plots to resolve. As they looked off into the horizon, Alyssa and James made their love known to one another.
It could be a good idea to find out how Bonnie is doing now that she has admitted to her misdeeds in new episodes. The focus of the show may still be mostly on Alyssa and James, but it may also be on their ability to maintain a normal life or flee once more.
