Reservation Dogs Season 2: Updates You Need to Know Today!

Sterlin Harjo and Taika Waititi created Reservation Dogs, an Indigenous American adolescent comedy-drama streaming television series for FX Productions. It’s a unique first in that it has all Indigenous writers and directors, as well as a cast and crew that is almost all Indigenous North American. It’s also the first television series shot entirely in Oklahoma. The series aired on FX on Hulu on August 9, 2021 (International Day of the World’s Indigenous Peoples). In September 2021, the show was renewed for a second season.

Season 1 of “Reservation Dogs” taught the kids a lot about life and themselves, but there are still a lot of unsolved questions that will be addressed in Season 2. Here’s all we know about the forthcoming season of “Reservation Dogs” thus far.

When Will It Be Available?

Season 2 of Reservation Dogs will air in 2022, according to FX, which confirmed the show’s renewal on September 2, 2021. Given that the first instalment appeared on August 9, 2021, it’s reasonable to expect the second instalment to come in late summer of the following year, albeit FX has the final say.

In the meanwhile, you can watch all of Season 1 of Reservation Dogs on Hulu.

Reservation Dogs Season 2 Cast

While no official word on the Season 2 cast has been released, the four series protagonists, Elora, Bear, Cheese, and Willie Jack, are likely to return. Bear’s mother Rita (Sarah Podemski), Officer Big (Zahn McClarnon), Mose (Lil Mike), Mekko (Funny Bone), and William “Spirit” Knifeman are all slated to make an appearance (Dallas Goldtooth). Keep an eye out for any formal casting announcements since we could get to meet some new characters.

The first TV series with a full Indigenous team of writers, directors, and producers, as well as a majority Indigenous cast, “Reservation Dogs,” is creating history in the entertainment business (per Salon). Harjo also talked about how they handled the original casting process in order to find cast members that could properly represent Indigenous-Americans. “You have to travel to these areas to discover the actors,” he told Salon. “That’s the extent of [‘Reservation Dogs’].” We went out and cast in the surrounding areas. We went out and gathered cassettes from a number of Native American tribes. There is talent in the room. It’s only that it’s not on Hollywood Blvd.”

What Will Be the Subject of Discussion?

Reservation Dogs Season 2

Plot details are still being ironed out, but there will be enough to explore following the completion of season one. According to, Jacobs believes that viewers would receive a “broader perspective” of the characters’ world. This might include more realistic representations of adolescent life and weekend hangouts. “Our weekends were a fantastic period of drama, competition, flashiness, snagging, hooking up, and everything in between when I was growing up in my town,” she added. “We’ve only begun to scratch the surface of what this planet has to offer.” “In season 2, I’m excited to learn more about this town and the context in which these kids are growing up.”

(The only time fans have seen him thus far is in Season 1, Episode 4.) “He’s just in one episode [of Season 1], but if there’s a Season 2, will we see him again?” Woon-A-Tai told TV Line, “I believe we will.” “Do I think Punkin will pay a visit to Oklahoma?” “I don’t think so,” says the narrator.
