Who Dies in Neighbours Storm? Who is Joining the Cast of the Show?

Neighbours is an Australian soap opera that aired on television from 18 March 1985 until 28 July 2022. Reg Watson, a television executive, devised it. The Seven Network ordered the series after the popularity of Watson’s previous serial opera Sons and Daughters.

Although Neighbours was a success in Melbourne, it underperformed in the Sydney market and was canceled by Seven four months after its premiere. It was quickly commissioned for a second production season by competitor Network Ten, which began airing on January 20, 1986.

Since then, Neighbours has been the longest-running drama series in the history of Australian television. It was recognized in the Logie Hall of Fame in 2005.

The plots focus on the residents and employees of Erinsborough, a fictitious suburb of Melbourne, Victoria. The series focuses on the inhabitants of Ramsay Street, a dead-end street, and the complex of Lassiters, which contains a bar, hotel, café, police station, lawyers’ office, and park.

The original focus of Watson’s Neighbours was on three families, notably the Ramsay and Robinson families, who have a lengthy history and a continuing feud. During the early years of the series, three additional houses on the street were utilized as recurring locations.

Pin Oak Court in Vermont South is the actual dead-end street that has been substituted for Ramsay Street. The residences depicted are real, and the homeowners granted permission to film exterior scenes in their yards. The interior sequences were filmed in the Forest Hill studios of Global Television.

Honors and Nominations

Throughout its existence, Neighbours has received a variety of honors and nominations. The show has been nominated for 89 Logie Awards and has won 31. In 2005, it was inducted into the Logie Hall of Fame. In five of the six years from 2000 to 2006, it was also nominated for “Most Popular Daytime Programme” at the UK’s National Television Awards.who dies in neighbours storm

In 1997, the show earned the Australian Film Institute Award for Best Episode in a Television Drama Series. Two Neighbours actors have been nominated for Rose D’Or honours, Ryan Moloney in 2004 and Jackie Woodburne in 2005. Neighbors have also won six awards from the Australian Writers’ Guild.

Who Dies in the Storm?

Britney Barnes’ tearful departure from Neighbours was featured in the most recent episode. Britney, portrayed by Montana Cox, died in the catastrophic storm that struck Erinsborough on the day of the wedding of Kyle Canning and Roxy Willis.

Wednesday’s broadcast on Channel 5 featured a seven-day time jump, depicting the locals in mourning after the Flamingo Bar massacre. The name of the deceased was first unknown, but inhabitants of Ramsay Street were later seen attending Britney’s memorial service.

Leo Tanaka (Tim Kano) was then seen in a flashback discovering Britney dead in the rubble after a telegraph pole had toppled into the Flamingo Bar during the storm, endangering the wedding guests of Kyle and Roxy.

Abigail, Leo and Britney’s infant daughter, survived the event, leaving a bereaved Leo as a single father. Britney initially appeared on Neighbours in September of last year, when Montana played a cameo role.

Since December, when a Neighbors teaser provided the first glimpse of the memorial service, her death had been teased. Terese Willis (Rebekah Elmaloglou) revealed to Chloe Brennan (April Rose Pengilly) in Wednesday’s episode that she blamed herself for Britney’s death.

Terese had received a warning to evacuate the Flamingo Bar as a precaution due to the storm just before the accident. However, she was suddenly diverted, delaying her arrival at the scene.

Terese observed her love interest Glen Donnelly (Richard Huggett) in another romantic moment with Sharon Canning (Natalie Herbert) outside Lassiters and got envious, as revealed in flashbacks.

Terese remarked to Chloe as she surveyed the devastation outside the demolished Flamingo Bar, “If I had disregarded Glen and Sharon and come right here, I would have had time to get everyone out.”

Chloe responded, “We’re talking about a maximum of one minute. Even if you had arrived immediately, by the time you had gathered everyone, it would have been too late.”who dies in neighbours storm

Terese disagreed, stating, “Chloe, our family, and friends were hurt, and Britney died because of my jealousy.” Terese determined in the aftermath that it was time to move on from her feelings for Glen and concentrate on her estranged husband Paul Robinson (Stefan Dennis), who is facing a difficult recovery after being injured in the storm.

New News About a New Cast Member on Neighbours

The Australian model Montana Cox will be joining the town of Erinsborough in the new season of Neighbours. The news was posted on the official Neighbours Instagram account, along with a picture of Montana on the set.

The caption said, “We’re excited to say that Montana Cox will soon be moving to Erinsborough.” “Keep an eye out for this, you won’t want to miss it!” A representative for Neighbours told Digital Spy that Montana will play a character instead of herself. The model started filming her guest role this week, and she will make her acting debut on the show later in 2021.

The name of her character, Britney Barnes, has also been made public. Oliver Barnes, a character on Neighbours, has the same last name as another character on the show, but it is not clear if they are related.

Oliver, played by David Hoflin, was on the soap opera from 2007 to 2008 and again in 2011. He was Rebecca Napier’s son (Jane Hall). He later married Carmella Cammeniti (Natalie Blair), and in 2008, they had a daughter named Chloe.

Montana said of her stint, “I’m so excited for my guest role on Neighbours.” “It’s such an honor that my first acting job is on Ramsay Street. I can’t wait for everyone to meet my character.”
