Will Brooklyn 99 Conclude With Its Eighth Season?
Sadly, Brooklyn Nine-Nine will conclude with its forthcoming ninth season. In February, co-creator Dan Goor issued a statement explaining the decision and thanking the show’s dedicated supporters. “I am fortunate to have had the greatest fans in the world. Fans that saved us actually from cancellation.
Fans who make us happy, “he stated. “It was a difficult decision to end the show, but we eventually believed it was the best way to honour the characters, the tale, and the audience. I’m sure some people will be dismayed that it’s ending so quickly, but I’m thankful it lasted this long.”
Speaking with LadBible, actor Joe Lo Truglio added the following: “Each and every story has been told. It is not surprising, and NBC could not have been more supportive, but it is our choice.”
Though the eighth and final season of Brooklyn Nine-Nine will premiere a little later than anticipated, Lo Truglio describes the final episodes as “a victory lap.” Fumero described the filming of the final season as “bittersweet” but assured fans of a good conclusion.
She told ComicBook*com, “I’m quite proud of this season.” “I believe it will be a satisfactory conclusion for viewers, and I’m just trying to think of it as a victory lap, celebrating the show and the people I work with.”
Brooklyn 99 Season 8 Premiere Date in the United Kingdom
As per Radiotimes Season, 8 of Brooklyn Nine-Nine premiered in the United Kingdom on Wednesday, April 20, 2022. In the United Kingdom, the show airs on E4 and All 4 and debuted with two episodes. It will continue to air new episodes every Wednesday.
Brooklyn Nine-Nine had previously announced that it would return to the United States on Thursday, August 12, 2021. The announcement was made in a teaser clip that recapped some of the season’s highlights – turns out someone actually counted every time the word “cool” was spoken.
Season eight would not launch until after the Tokyo Olympics, which airs on Brooklyn Nine-Nine broadcaster NBC in the United States.
The upcoming season of Brooklyn Nine-Nine was originally scheduled to premiere in the United States in autumn 2020, according to NBC’s schedule, but was pushed back to this year, with Andre Braugher (Captain Raymond Holt) tweeting in August, “We’re back…in 2021 that is.”
Thankfully, season eight filming began in December, with Joe LoTruglio (Charles Boyle) informing fans with an Instagram photo captioned: “We’ve arrived. SECOND SEASON”
The good news, however, was short-lived, since production on the series was halted in January due to an increase in coronavirus infections and COVID-19 deaths in Los Angeles, as Deadline reported at the end of last year. Andy Samberg, an actor of B99, told LadBible in February: “We started shooting and then stopped. So we’re just waiting to return.
“We plan to return in the not-too-distant future. There are several things at work, including an increase in [COVID] numbers in Los Angeles “He said. “There’s a continuity to the people and stories, and the set becomes its own organism, which you don’t want to interrupt.” I believe you can [fall out of sync], and we’ll find out when we return.”
Thankfully, the cast and crew returned to set in early April, with Melissa Fumero (Amy Santiago) tweeting, “Ba ba ba back in the Nine-Nine!!!” while Lo Truglio released a video of himself transforming into Boyle before filming with the caption: “Returning to Boyle. The vacation is finished!”
After eight years of shooting together, filming officially finished on June 10, 2021, resulting in some quite emotional social media messages from the actors.

The minute-long short, which is part trailer and half featurette, teases exciting moments to come, including a wonderfully on-brand drum roll from Captain Holt, as well as interviews with the cast discussing their time on the program.
