Emma Watson: Harry Potter Put Immense Pressure On Her

Emma Watson became known worldwide for her role in the “Harry Potter” films, but things weren’t always so rosy. There are advantages to being famous, but there are also some downsides. The “Harry Potter” stars know that only too well.

Emma Watson Wanted To Quit

Seven books, eight films and a unique story teleported us into an exciting and magical world. Or rather Apparated? A few days ago, the 20th anniversary of the “Harry Potter” franchise was broadcast. There, but also in recent years, the actors talked about private moments behind the scenes. Emma Watson talked about her worst scene in the “Harry Potter” films and why it almost escalated on the set. “Harry Potter” was the big breakthrough for the actors back then, but with the fame came a lot of pressure and an ever decreasing private sphere. Hermione Granger actress Emma Watson was also considering quitting acting altogether.

“Harry Potter”: The Pressure Was Too Much For Her

“The fame suddenly became a huge thing,” said Emma Watson at the 20th “Harry Potter” anniversary. She didn’t know how to deal with all of this, and she also felt lonely. “I was terrified”, she shared in conversation with her colleague Rupert Grint. She had thought about leaving the franchise before the fifth part (“Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix”). The positivity of the fan base and the support of her colleagues convinced Emma to stay. Or could you imagine “Harry Potter” as Hermione Granger without Emma Watson?

Emma Watson: The Most Awkward Kiss

“Harry Potter” stars Rupert Grint and Emma Watson were allowed to make eight films together for ten years, so they practically grew up together in front of the camera. On the one hand, this meant that the people at the upcoming “Harry Potter” reunion would undoubtedly have a lot to tell each other – on the other hand, it also meant that all the kissing scenes between the actors became weird. So also between Grint and Watson. At the moment long-awaited by fans, when the two finally kissed in “Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows”, the actor has the following to say:

“I’m not watching this scene. I’ve known Emma since I was nine years old, and we had this brother-sister relationship.” Watson kissing was “very surreal” for the star. “I remember her face getting closer and closer, and I was like, ‘Oh my god.’ Other than that, I don’t remember much more.”

Watson once said that she was “thrown at him” so that the scene would be through as quickly as possible. Hence the very enthusiastic kiss between the two of them.
