Plot of Date A Live Season 5
The series opens with a weird phenomena known as a “spatial earthquake” causing at least 150 million deaths in the core of Eurasia. Infrequent smaller spatial earthquakes will plague the earth for the next 30 years. Shido Itsuka, an apparently average high school student, encounters a mystery female at the epicentre of a spatial earthquake in the present.
He learns from his adopted sister Kotori that the girl is one of the “Spirits” from multiple dimensions that are the true cause of spatial tremors when they manifest in the real world. In addition, he discovers that Kotori is the captain of the airship Fraxinus, which is crewed by Ratatoskr and its parent firm, Asgard Electronics.
Ratatoskr recruits Shido to use his strange talent to seal the Spirits’ abilities, so preventing them from posing a threat to humanity. However, there is a catch: in order to seal the power of a Spirit, he must have each Spirit fall in love with him and kiss him.
However, Shido and his companions face opposition from the AST (Anti-Spirit Team), a special unit designed to eliminate Spirits in order to eliminate the threat they pose. The AST is supported by DEM Industries, a corporation led by Sir Isaac Ray Pelham Westcott, who intends to exploit the Spirits’ abilities for his own purposes.
As Shido continues to successfully seal more and more Spirits, he gets allies to assist him on his dates with other Spirits, but the rivalry for his adoration intensifies, much to his displeasure.
Announcement of Date A Live Season 5
