Actor changes are not uncommon in series and films. It often happens that roles are filled. Either the stars are fired because of differences or they drop out voluntarily. We’ll tell you which actors had to give up their roles and which stars they were replaced by.
Reggie Mantle – Riverdale
The role of Reggie Mantle in “Riverdale” was first played by Ross Butler. However, the actor also had a part in the Netflix series “13 Reasons Why.” At some point his schedule crashed, the filming of the two series crossed and he had to leave “Riverdale.” A change of actor was necessary. Charles Melton later revealed in an interview that the “Riverdale” maker had recommended that he not watch scenes with Ross Butler in preparation, but rather do his own thing. He’s been doing it pretty well since season 2, fans love him.
Jesus Adams Foster – The Fosters
After season two of “The Fosters” the role of “Jesus Adams Foster” was re-cast and Jake T. Austin was replaced by Noah Centineo. Fans were horrified and in a Q&A on Twitter, the “Wizard of Waverly Place” star explained that his role in “The Fosters” in the third season should get less airtime and that he did not want to be held back by other projects. However, this actor change was great for Noah Centineo, who then landed his role in the Netflix hit “To All The Boys I’ve Loved Before.”
Capheus Onyango – Sense 8
Aml Ameen played the role of Capheus “Van Damme” Onyango in the Netflix series “Sense 8” in the first season. For the Christmas special and the second season, however, he was replaced by Toby Onwumere. His dismissal was allegedly due to “creative differences.” However, it is rumoured that there was allegedly a conflict between the actor and director Lena Wachowski that worsened during the filming of Season 2. The “Sense 8” role was replaced during the shoot.
Charlie Harper – Two And A Half Men
“Two And A Half Men” has probably had the biggest dismissal drama behind it. Charlie Sheen was popular worldwide as Charlie Harper on the series. His excessive lifestyle and drug use resulted in his being fired in 2011. His role was replaced by Ashton Kutcher last season. However, this actor change did not go very smoothly. Series creators Chuck Lorre and Charlie Sheen broke up in a heated argument. Which perhaps explains the absurd death of Charlie Harper. For those who don’t remember: a piano fell from heaven and killed him.
