Spider-Man: Tom Holland Wants A Prequel With Ned & MJ

Spider-Man: Tom Holland Wants A Prequel With Ned & MJ

Spider-Man No Way Home was released in theaters, and the trilogy did not have time to conclude that Tom Holland is already talking about new projects. The actor said he would like to make a movie or a prequel to the series of Spider-Man with MJ and Ned and then with colleagues Zendaya and Jacob Batalon.

The two characters have played a massive role in Peter Parker’s life in the MCU and have always been protagonists alongside him. In an interview with Nerdist, Tom Holland said he’d like to review the early days of their friendship somehow. How did they meet? What happened that brought them together? Here are the words on the actor’s desired prequel of Spider-Man:

“We’d love to do a little short film or something with some younger actors to find out how Peter, Ned and MJ first met. Maybe Peter and Ned were bullied at school and MJ stepped in to save the day or something. and that’s how they became friends. Because we really don’t know, I think it depends on the audience’s interpretation”.

A New Spider-Man Trilogy

In any case, it is rumored that a new Spider-Man trilogy is on the way and that it will see the young hero at a different stage in his life. It is unknown if these new films will in any way include MJ and Ned, although the No Way Home ending hints at it. But will we ever see a Spider-Man prequel? We can’t know at the moment.

Previously Tom Holland talked about his approach to the end of the trilogy that began with Spider-Man Homecoming. The actor has declared that he has no other activities for the moment, although producer Amy Pascal has confirmed that a new trilogy is on the way.

No Way Home Post Credit Scenes Set Up The New Trilogy

Two post-credit scenes were shown to the fans at the end of Spider-Man: No Way Home. One of these two was the trailer for the next Doctor Strange movie, Doctor Strange In The Multiverse of Madness, and the second was about Eddie Brock. The character from Venom appeared in the second post-credit scene. Those who have seen Venom: Let There Be Carnage may know that Venom and Eddie are transported into the universe of Tom Holland’s Peter Parker at the end. In the No Way Home post-credit scene, Eddie and Venom move back to their universe, but a tiny piece of the symbiote is left behind. This will now result in the MCU getting its own Venom or the ultimate black Spider-Man.
