Season 3 of Sword Gai: Here’s What You Need to Know So Far!

Not all anime is created equal; some impress us while others disappoint. This is completely understandable given that not everything in this world is perfect, including anime shows.

Liking or disliking a particular anime can be a subjective matter based on people’s tastes and preferences, but if an anime flops and fails to meet most people’s expectations, then that show is not good and the producers should not make more of it.

The same thing is happening with “Sword Gai,” which has already delivered two seasons. We’ve covered everything you need to know about Sword Gai season 3, including whether we’ll get another season or if the network has finally realized it’s time to end the series. Continue reading to find out.

Takahiro Ikezoe and Tomohito Naka direct the Japanese anime television series Sword Gai. This anime, like others, is based on a manga series written by Toshiki Inoue and illustrated by Keita Amemiya (characters) and Wosamu Kine (scenario).

It first appeared in Hero’s Inc.’s seinen manga magazine Hero’s in 2012 and has since been collected into six tank volumes. Sword Gai Evolve, a continuation series, was released in 2016 and will be completed in 2019.

Release Date for Sword Gai Season 3

On March 23, 2018, Netflix worldwide released the first twelve episodes (“Part I”) of an anime adaptation titled Sword Gai: The Animation. On July 30, 2018, Part II was delivered. DLE and Fields created an anime adaptation of Sword Gai, which was scheduled to air in April 2016 but was repeatedly postponed.

On March 23, 2018, Netflix acquired the licensing rights to the series and began streaming it globally. Both the first and second seasons have a total of 12 episodes to watch, each with a runtime of 22 minutes.

Netflix made a poor attempt with the anime. It received terrible ratings and reviews. It has a rating of 5.8 out of 100 on IMDb. According to the reviews, this has to be one of the most incoherent, absurd, and futile animes ever.

It’s terrible, and it borrows heavily from the concepts of other anime. In terms of genre, the show is all over the place: horror, action, fantasy, and supernatural.

Will Netflix still choose to continue even after the series’ failure? Most emphatically not. They have officially canceled and terminated Sword Gai, and there will be no season 3.

As one would expect, the reason for cancellation is related to its poor performance and negative reviews. As a result, there is no chance that the OTT giant will invest its money in something that is unworthy and will only result in losses.

Before we finish, let’s go over who the characters are in Sword Gai and what the story is about.

Story of Sword Gai

The series follows Gai, a young man who became a student under a metal forger named Amon, who discovered him as an infant clutching an incredible reviled katana called “Shiry,” which drove his mother to end it all rather than letting its bloodlust devour her.

The katana is revealed to be one of many reviled weapons that convert the client into bondage in order to encapsulate their dangerous driving forces, the Chrysalis gradually losing their humanity while becoming defensively covered beasts known as Busoma.

Amon fashioned the blade into a prosthetic appendage for Gai after he lost his right arm during a service to subdue Shiry goes exhibit. Gai transforms into a chrysalis with the ability to combine with his weapon, clinging to his humanity in the face of a Busoma out to eradicate humanity.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

Is there a season three of Sword Gai?

The third season of Sword Gai has been officially canceled and will not air. As expected, the reason for the cancellation is the poor performance and negative reviews. Therefore, there is no chance that an OTT giant will invest in something that is worthless and only results in losses.

Is Sword Gai done?

Sword Gai doesn’t end. It simply stops. Seriously, I have no idea if there is a planned second half that Netflix hasn’t mentioned or if they forgot to include episode 13 or what, but episode 12 ends with the most half-hearted middle finger to the audience in recent memory. There is no concluding statement.

Will Sword Gai return for a second season?

With so many upcoming anime series, it is inevitable that some will not receive a second season. However, the odds are good with Sword Gai, if for no other reason than there is still a great deal of story to adapt.

Conclusion

Anime isn’t all created equal; some are awe-inspiring, while others are a let-down. As with everything else in life, there are flaws. This includes anime shows.

Whether one likes or dislikes a specific anime is a matter of personal taste, but if an anime fails to live up to the expectations of the majority of viewers, then it is a bad show and its creators should stop making more of it.

In the case of “Sword Gai,” which has already aired for two seasons, the same thing is happening. All the information you need to know about Sword Gai season 3, including if there will be a fourth season or if the network decided it was time to call it quits, has been provided above.
