“MacGruber” is an upcoming action-comedy series from streaming service Peacock based on the “Saturday Night Live” sketch of the same name. It is a parody of the 80s series “MacGyver”. You need to know about the new series.

“MacGruber” will start in the USA in 2021. The series will be released on December 16 on streaming service Peacock. The “MacGruber” movie flopped in the USA but found an audience in home theatres and is considered a cult among fan circles. 

MacGruber: What Is The Plot?

After rotting in prison for over a decade, America’s ultimate hero and super-patriot MacGruber are finally released. His mission: to bring down a mysterious villain from his past Brigadier Commander Enos Queen. With the whole world in the crosshairs, MacGruber must fight against time to defeat the forces of evil – only to find that evil lurks inside too.

The first trailer for the series has already been released. He shows you the very self-confident MacGruber, played by Will Forte. Above it, a voice can be heard telling the story of the creation of the earth from a religious point of view and claiming that on the 8th day, God created his best creation ever – MacGruber.

The show’s cast includes Will Forte (” The Last Man on Earth “, ” Sweet Tooth “) as MacGruber, Kristen Wiig (” Saturday Night Live “) as Vicki St. Elmo, Ryan Phillippe (“I know what you did last summer hast “,” Big Sky “) as Dixon Piper, Sam Elliott (” Grace and Frankie “,” 1883 “) as Perry, Laurence Fishburne (” Matrix “,” black-ish “) as General Barrett Fasoose, Billy Zane (” Titanic “) as Brigadier Commander Enos Queeth, Timothy V. “MacGruber” is based on the “Saturday Night Live” sketch of the same name and is a fairly free parody of the 80s series “MacGyver”. The series is a sequel to the film from 2010. The series creators are Will Forte, Jorma Taccone (“Saturday Night Live”) and John Solomon (“The Last Man on Earth”).

Executive producers are Will Forte, Jorma Taccone, John Solomon, Lorne Michaels, John Goldwyn, Andrew Singer and Erin David. “MacGruber” is produced by Universal Television and Broadway Video. The film was shot between June and August 2021 in Albuquerque, New Mexico.
