Chicago Med is one among many, many hospital dramas that have appeared in recent years. “Grey’s Anatomy” revitalized and modernized the style of 2005 and was inspired, a minimum of partially, by medical dramas like “ER” and “Chicago Hope.” “Chicago Med” naturally has its own taste for ChiTown and unique programming that casts its spell on audiences week after week, season after season.
The show stars Torrey DeVitto as Natalie Manning, a widow whose husband died while serving within the US military overseas. Despite all of her hardships from being one mother and mourning the loss of her husband, she still manages to be a really successful pediatrician on the show.
Unfortunately, her time involves an end when she is caught stealing drugs from a drug studio to assist her ailing mother recover. Although her actions came from a noble place, she was still fired for her transgression and has not been on the show since season 7, episode 1.
But if you hear where she is true now you’ll be very happy!
Where is she right now?
Chicago Med is not the last Torrey DeVitto fans will see. Since leaving the show, he has returned to Hallmark to star in another Made for television movie, “The Christmas Promise” (via Deadline). She also stars in “Cold,” a horror movie during which she plays a well-liked cook whom she inexplicably misses, causing her fellow cook and potential love interest to spiral out of control.
She also plays the mother within the family drama “Skelly,” which recently went into post-production. The film is about three generations of a family: a deceased grandfather, a tragic father, and his young son who has not yet understood the complexities of mortality while trying to create a haunted house. Devitto completed all of those projects within the last year alone. Obviously, his career shows no signs of losing momentum anytime soon.
As for her personal life, DeVitto was proud to announce on social media last May that she had recently dated Cubs manager David Ross (via NBC News 5 Chicago). As of October 5, the actor’s Instagram account still contains images of the 2 lovebirds enjoying their lives together, so we must assume the romance goes well.
As much as his character “Chicago Med” is missed, it seems that DeVitto has had a really successful personal and business life since he left the show.
