Following a series of leaks last month, it has finally been confirmed that the hit anime series Fire Force will return for a third season.
In the wonderful world of anime, nothing beats liking, sharing, and discussing the latest theories and leaks about their favorite series.
The conversation about leaks is centered on social media, specifically Twitter, where both real and fake news can spread quickly to fans all over the world.
Last month, a popular leaker claimed that the Fire Force anime was back in production, which has now been confirmed by the series’ Japanese production company.
Officially Confirmed: Fire Force Season 3
On May 17th, it was finally confirmed that Season 3 of Fire Force was on the way. The series’ Japanese Twitter page, along with the domestic website, announced that a third season was “now in production.”
However, fans of the anime series had been anticipating this announcement for some time, thanks to several leaks last month.
SugoiLITE, a well-known and trustworthy Twitter leaker and insider announced on April 29th that “‘Fire Force’ (Enen no Shouboutai) TV Anime Season 3 [is] in production.”
The good news was that Fire Force’s return was already all but guaranteed because anime renewals are typically determined by two factors: popularity and source material.
It’s clear that Fire Force is a hugely popular series among fans, but don’t just take our word for it. Fire Force has an IMDB rating of 7.6/10, a Rotten Tomatoes rating of 83 percent, and a Crunchyroll rating of 4.1/5, with ratings of 7.69/10 and 7.78/10 on MyAnimeList for both seasons – with a total of 890,000 reviews.
Despite the fact that these figures have little relevance to Japanese performance, which is arguably a more important factor in renewals than international success, they do show that Fire Force was unquestionably popular enough to warrant a third anime season.
Then there’s the source material, which is enough to make a third season of the anime. According to Anime Geek (formerly Monsters & Critics), the anime adapted the original manga up until around volume 20 chapter 174.
The good news is that 304 chapters in 34 volumes have been published in Japan, with the series reaching its conclusion earlier this year after a fantastic six-year run.
Because each season of Fire Force has adapted roughly ten volumes of the manga, the production team has enough source material for at least one more full season of the anime, and possibly two if manga content can be stretched out.
GOLDEN KAMUY: The fourth season will premiere in October, following the conclusion of the manga.
Predictions for the Release Date of Fire Force Season 3
While fans were overjoyed to learn that the anime will return for another lit adventure, no release date for Fire Force season 3 was provided. We can, however, make some predictions based on previous seasons’ production and the schedule for David Productions, the studio behind Fire Force.
Season 1 was announced in November 2018 and premiered in July 2019, with Season 2 to follow in December 2019 and July 2020 – a 7 to 8-month animation period.
Many fans may have expected the anime to return in April 2022 as part of the Spring broadcasting schedule based on this production cycle. However, the lack of official season 3 news is most likely due to David Production’s work schedule.
Since the conclusion of the second season of Fire Force in 2020, the studio has been hard at work on Strike Witches: Road to Berlin, 2.43: Seiin High School Boys Volleyball Team, and Cells at Work!!
However, the studio is currently working on a 52-episode adaptation of the Urusei Yatsura series, which will be broadcast over four seasons later this year. Assuming that this is David Production’s primary focus, fans can expect Fire Force season 3 to premiere in either October 2022 (optimistic) or January 2023 (more likely).
Where Can I Read the Original English Manga?

- Volume 29 will be released on October 18th, 2022.

Fans can purchase physical copies of the Fire Force manga series from Penguin Random House as well as Amazon, Barnes & Noble, Books a Million, Bookshop, Hudson Booksellers, IndieBound, Powell’s, Target, and Walmart.
The Fire Force Mobile Game Has Been Announced
Along with the announcement that Fire Force Season 3 would begin production, it was also revealed that a new mobile game was in the works.
At this early stage, details on the new game are understandably scarce, with the post only titling the game “Fire Force Flame Dance.”
According to the new Japanese website for the upcoming title, Fire Force Flame Dance will be an RPG-style game with Item-based play fees, noting that this is “basically free to play.”
In other news, the fourth season of Love, Death, and Robots is still unknown, but another volume is a foregone conclusion.
