By 2021’s end, an anime series called Ranking of Kings had sprung out of nowhere, enrapturing viewers with its magnificent euro-fantasy aesthetic and its heartwarming tale of a young, deaf prince.
In terms of modern anime writing, the show’s first season was a true masterpiece. A clever and provocative story about heroism (and what heroes look like) was told over the course of 23 episodes, and the audience kept wondering until the end. In addition, it’s stunning in every way.
But Now That the First Season Has Come to an End, What Does the Future Hold for This Show?
Let’s start with the difficult part. The second season of Ranking of Kings has yet to be confirmed by either WIT Studio, the show’s Japanese production company, or Fuji TV, the show’s broadcaster.
But given the show’s overwhelmingly good reception (a Rotten Tomatoes score of 91 percent) and the jump in manga sales that followed its premiere, we doubt this will hold true for long……..

What Will Happen in the Second Season of Ranking of Kings?
Most of the major storylines in the season one finale of Ranking of Kings have been wrapped up. Finally, King Bosse succumbed to his wounds and floats away in a graceful manner, having been given control of his body for the first time in a long time. Also, in case you missed it, Daida asked Miranjo to be her husband.
We don’t know where the tale will go if there is a second season, as the stakes were reset. However, there may be some hints in the show’s last seconds.
Several important events take place, including Boji’s abdication of the kingdom and Desha’s appointment as the next King. It is also Desha’s and his brother Ouken’s mission to discover a solution to save each other’s brother (who was just squashed into a ball and yelled into a lake, FYI).
We can’t wait to learn more about the ‘rankings’ and the mysterious organization behind them, and we’re eager to see what else comes out of these two developments.
According to Ssuke Toko, the show’s creator, the supposition is the only thing we have to go on “A happy ending is one of my favorite types of narratives since I’m a sentimental sap. When possible, I want to make everyone happy. But I’m afraid I’m unable to stop the villains. That’s all there is to it.”
Ranking of Kings doesn’t seem to have any truly evil characters, so we’re not sure what this means.
Is There a Release Date for Season 2 of Ranking of Kings?
The ranking of Kings 2 is projected to be postponed for several years. By 2023-2024, there should be enough manga to produce a second season. The anime production committee, on the other hand, may decide to hold off until the second manga story arc is complete.
Who knows when everyone’s favorite boy-king will be back in season two? Consider how long it takes to receive the first batch of episodes to have a good idea of how long it would take to get the rest.
The first season of Ranking of Kings covers the first 12 volumes (156 chapters) of the original manga, which is now referred to as ‘Part 1’.
Despite the fact that the series’ creator, Sasuke Tka, began writing it in 2017, the first volume was released in February of this year and the twelfth in December. To get to the point where he had enough information for the present adaption, Tka had to work on it for at least three years.
Part 2 will begin with the release of Volume #13, which falls in accordance with the one-volume-every-four-months schedule. There are currently 191 chapters in the Ranking of Kings, for those keeping score at home.
If this is the case, viewers would have to wait for almost two and a half years until they get a second season of Bojji. To be hopeful, a second season might be announced before the end of 2024. If WIT Studios opted to develop a 12-episode second season instead, this may happen sooner.
However, there is one more thing you need to know! On July 10th, 2022, the Tokyo International Forum will host a ‘Summer Festival Special Event,’ which anime fans like us are eager to attend. We wouldn’t be surprised if some type of statement was made about Bojji and Kage’s future during this event, which is now merely a celebration of the Ranking of Kings.
