Clint Barton and Kate Bishop went home at the end of Hawkeye’s first season after a memorable Christmas. Season one of Hawkeye features Clint the retired avenger dealing with personal demons, Kate Bishop taking on the role of superhero, and cameos from Yelena Belova and Daredevil’s Kingpin.
Thankfully, everything worked out in the end. Following the events of Avengers: Endgame, the Marvel series premiered on Disney on November 24, 2021, and concluded on December 22, 2021.
The most recent addition to the Marvel Cinematic Universe, Hailee Steinfeld as Kate Bishop, was a delight to watch, and the entire series was cheerful and joyful! So, what’s next for Kate Bishop and Clint Barton?
Is there going to be a season two? Isn’t Yelena an excellent example? What precisely is the post-credits scene’s significance? Is there going to be a Pizza-dog sequel?
Hawkeye’s first season purposefully left things open, implying that Clint Barton, along with his new partner, Kate Bishop as Lady Hawk, Hawk Eve, Hawk Shot, and Lady Arrow, may continue as Hawkeye. It remains to be seen whether that story continues in Hawkeye season two.
But one thing is certain: Kate’s upcoming involvement with the Avengers. Marvel has been teasing a Young Avengers team for some time now, which means that Hailee Steinfeld’s character could soon end up on the big screen alongside Wanda’s children, Ant-daughter, Man and plenty more new heroes who look set to replace the golden oldies.
The consequences of Hawkeye’s first season will also be felt in Echo’s upcoming spinoff programme, which Marvel has previously confirmed. By the end of season one, Alaqua Cox’s character had been redeemed, positioning her to be a morally dubious vigilante in the manner of Marvel’s Netflix lineup when her new show premieres.
Who Will Appear in Hawkeye Season 2?
The greatest unknown about Hawkeye season two is Jeremy Renner’s involvement. In many ways, season one has prepared Hailee Steinfeld’s Kate Bishop to take over for the original Hawkeye in the future.
While Hailee’s comeback is very certainly a foregone conclusion, we shouldn’t rule out Jeremy just yet. According to producer Trinh Tran, Renner may still have a future in the MCU (though we assume his presence will be less significant in the future).
Tran explained to CinePOP: “There are always fresh things to tell, especially when it comes to Clint Barton. There’s so much more to discover. We’ll just have to wait and see what happens, but working with Jeremy is fantastic.
He adores his role, and he is the only one who truly understands who Clint Barton is. I believe there are options. We’ll see what happens.” There is also a lot of uncertainty about Kingpin, who is played by Vincent D’Onofrio in both Hawkeye and Daredevil on Netflix.
In the final issue of Matt Fraction’s legendary Hawkeye comic, Kingpin gathered a slew of criminals and said, “It appears we are in the Avenger-killing business.” However, in the Hawkeye finale, Echo turned the tables on film by shooting him off-screen, supposedly killing him instead.
But is Kingpin really dead, or will he return one day, damaged but still alive? We’re betting on the latter. Did you see how he deflected all those arrows to the chest?
If that’s the case, look for him to reappear in Hawkeye season two and/or Echo’s spinoff programme. Hopefully, Kate’s new best friend, Yelena Romanoff (Florence Pugh), will show up to lend a hand with some hot sauce in hand.
Expected Release Date
Most TV series have a second season 12-18 months following the first, but Marvel shows are part of a far larger plan that includes the MCU as a whole. As a result, it’s more difficult to tell when a tale like Hawkeye will return, or whether it will be revived at all.
It’s just as conceivable that these characters may reappear in a film or on another TV programme. If Hawkeye season two is made a reality, we expect the season to be released in 2023 at the earliest.
- Season 1 Release Date– November 24, 2021
What Happened at the End of Hawkeye?
Hawkeye may not receive a season 2, but its ending leaves the door open for additional stories about its characters. In Hawkeye Episode 6, Clint Barton and Kate Bishop worked together one last time to take down Kingpin and the Tracksuit Mafia.
At Eleanor Bishop’s holiday dinner, a brawl erupted after Kazi attempted to kill Eleanor for Kingpin. Clint and Kate left the celebration and went up against the Tracksuit Mafia. Kate rescued her mother from Kingpin, whom she rendered unconscious with her trick arrows.
Yelena Belova and Echo stepped up to the battle as well, but they had their own objectives. Echo desired vengeance for her father’s death, while Yelena wanted to murder Clint because she blamed him for her sister’s death.
Echo eventually killed Kazi, and she tracked down Kingpin after his struggle with Kate. The villain tried to persuade his niece to spare him, but the camera went away from him and Echo, and the audience heard a gunshot.
Clint and Yelena battled, but he eventually persuaded her that Natasha decided to sacrifice herself in Avengers: Endgame. They became friends through their mutual passion for Natasha, and then Yelena vanished.
At the end of the finale, Eleanor was arrested for the murder of Armand Duquesne III. Clint and Kate also celebrated Christmas with their family. Even if there isn’t a season 2, Marvel could undoubtedly produce additional Hawkeye storylines.
Unfortunately, there is no trailer for Hawkeye Season 2 at this time, but you can watch its season 1 trailer and enjoy the previous season.
