Over nearly two decades, Scarlett Johansson and Chris Evans have forged a beautiful friendship that continued behind the camera. After meeting in the filming of “The Perfect Score” in 2004 and “The Nanny Diaries” in 2007, they began an extensive and pleasant crusade within the MCU (Marvel Cinematic Universe).
But while both veterans reached the end of their journey as Black Widow and Captain America, the duo would reunite for an upcoming high-profile project produced by Apple Studios and Skydance. This Sunday, Deadline published the exclusive that the two-time Oscar nominee and Evans are in advanced negotiations for a new romantic action film titled “Ghosted.”
What Is Ghosted?
Although the details of the film’s plot are secret, it emerged that the director behind the project is Dexter Fletcher, responsible for the acclaimed “Rocketman” and “Bohemian Rhapsody.” At the moment, the scheduled date for the start of production is unknown.
The confirmation of the two figures would give Apple TV + another essential title to attract subscribers after premiering the Sundance sensation, “CODA.” The streamer is also in total production on “Killers of the Flower Moon,” the ambitious film directed by Martin Scorsese with DiCaprio and De Niro, the Will Smith and Antoine Fuqua film, “Emancipation” and “Kitbag.” The latter is about the film directed by Ridley Scott, with Joaquin Phoenix as Napoleon Bonaparte and Jodie Comer as his wife, Josephine.
Within Marvel, Scarlett Johansson and Chris Evans have already worked on the four installments of The Avengers, as well as on “Captain America: The Winter Soldier” and “Captain America: Civil War.” “Ghosted” would be the ninth collaboration in an audiovisual project by the artists.
Johansson Has Shown That Marvel Is Not The End
At the end of July and after the premiere of her solo film, “Black Widow,” Scarlett Johansson filed a lawsuit against Disney for breach of contract.
Although some called that move “risky,” despite the fact that ties with the entertainment giant have been broken, offers from other places have not stopped reaching him. It has recently been confirmed that the 36-year-old actress will also be part of the new Wes Anderson film with Tom Hanks and Margot Robbie.
Scarlett Johansson could return in the future Marvel projects as Black Widow if the superhero production house decides to make more prequel stories about the main Avengers lineup. If not, then Black Widow can be officially slated as Johansson’s last project with MCU.
