Chris Martin and Dakota Johnson, who have been dating for three years, are closer than ever.
A source tells PEOPLE in this week’s issue that the pair have been living together at the Coldplay frontman’s vast $12.5 million Malibu property since he acquired it in October.
Dakota Johnson and Chris Martin’s Ex-wife Gwyneth Paltrow and her family join them for Sunday dinners in their new home
After his divorce from Gwyneth Paltrow in 2016, Chris Martin, 43, relocated to Malibu. “Chris was always a great lover of Malibu,” a source said of the coastal town. In his free time, he enjoys going to the beach to swim, surf, or run.
The actress, who has a house in the Hollywood Hills, was formerly described as “more of a city girl” by a friend before meeting Martin and beginning a relationship with him in 2017, but she has since come to like her new, more relaxed way of life.
According to the insider, “she appears to like it as much as Chris.” “They’re both big fans of the great outdoors, and they like taking walks on the beach together quite a bit. They also patronize local eateries, which is a good thing for the community.”
In spite of the current coronavirus epidemic, the pair, who has lately been rumored to be engaged, typically fly to Los Angeles for Sunday dinners with Paltrow’s family, including her husband, Brad Falchuk, and her two children with ex-husband Martin, 16-year-old Apple, and 14-year-old Moses. Isabella and Brody are the children of Falchuk’s marriage to Suzanne Bukinik.
According to the insider, “it’s evident that everyone still gets along fine.”
Paltrow talked openly about co-parenting with Martin on The Drew Barrymore Show in September, saying that their bond is stronger than ever.
In spite of the fact that you’re terminating a marriage, “you’re still a member of a family,” she remarked. “So it will remain for all time. It may not be as nice as it appears on certain days. On the other hand, I believe we’re all working toward the same goal of love, harmony.”
After a breakup, “we have this sense that simply because we break up, we can’t love the qualities about the person that we loved, and that’s not true,” she continued. “My friendship with Chris is now stronger than our marriage, therefore I believe it is possible.”
Gwyneth Paltrow also spoke of how much she enjoyed having Johnson in her life in January of this year.
Harper’s Bazaar quoted her as saying, “I really adore her.” “You can’t resist or be made insecure by the ampersand symbol, so what else can you bring into the equation? Something like that has so much potential.”
In 2018, Griffith said of Martin, “I love him.” I admire her for keeping her personal life private, though.
