Ted Lasso Season 3 Release Date: How Many Ted Lasso Episodes Are There in Season 3 on Apple TV?

Season three of Ted Lasso was announced in October 2020, but no release date has been set.

The sitcom, which follows an extraordinarily kind American football coach who is appointed to manage a professional “soccer” team in England despite his complete lack of knowledge of the game, has become a fan favorite.

Jason Sudeikis plays the titular coach, and his Emmy-winning performance has won him many fans. And Ted may be in for his biggest test yet, with a former friend as a new adversary (more on that in a bit).

Following the conclusion of the second season, in which AFC Richmond faced a completely different task in a lower division and made it their aim to return to the top, they are now back in the Premier League.

But what can we expect from Ted Lasso’s third season? Here’s what we know so far.

Season 3 of Ted Lasso will star Nick Mohammed, Jason Sudeikis, and Brendan Hunt.

Only the primary cast members were featured in Apple’s press release announcing Ted Lasso season 3.

Hence, the cast of Ted Lasso is set, with Jason Sudeikis as Ted Lasso, Brendan Hunt as his right-hand man Coach Beard, Brett Goldstein as the gruff Roy Kent, Hannah Waddingham as the boss lady Rebecca Welton, and Juno Temple playing Keeley Jones; we also have Jeremy Swift as Higgins. Even Nick Mohammed as Nathan “Nate” Shelley makes an appearance.

Having said that, we expect to see most of the rest of the team return, beginning with West Ham United’s new owner, Rupert Mannion (Anthony Head).

But the good news from Season 2’s finale is that Sam Obisanya, who stayed with the squad, will not be missed. This season, Toheeb Jimoh hit it out of the park, and we expect to see a lot more of him in season 3.

Other cast members that are expected to return are as follows:

  • Colin Hughes(Instagram), played by Billy Harris, is still working on his self-esteem.
  • Dani Rojas, played by Cristo Fernández, remembers that football is his life.
  • AFC Richmond goalkeeper Thierry Zoreaux is played by Moe Jeudy-Lamour.
  • Will is played by Charlie Hiscock (the kitman)
  • Annette Badland plays Mae, a bartender at The Prince’s Head.
  • Baz, a regular at The Prince’s Head, is played by Adam Colborne.
  • Jeremy, a regular at The Prince’s Head, is played by Bronson Webb.
  • Paul, a regular at The Prince’s Head, is played by Kevin Garry.

Bill Lawrence, the show’s creator, has also announced that Sarah Niles, who plays Dr. Sharon Fieldstone, and James Lance, who plays Trent Crimm, will reprise their roles (now simply, independent).

While we can anticipate seeing more of Ellie Taylor as Rebecca’s pal Sassy, Elodie Blomfield as Roy’s niece Phoebe, and Phoebe Walsh as Coach Beard’s on-again, off-again girlfriend Jane, none of them appear to be as certain.

We’d be surprised if Kieran O’Brien didn’t reprise his role as Jamie’s abusive father, James Tartt. Speaking of returning characters, Sam Richardson could return as Edwin Akufo, who sought to hire Sam away from Richmond, but we’re not sure how long his scheme for Raja Casablanca will take.

Some possible narrative lines for season 3 include Ted dealing with the fallout from being misled by assistant coach Nate Shelley (Nick Mohammed). Nate and Ted have a key conversation after Nate leaks information about Ted’s panic attack to Trent.

The episode concludes with Nate being offered the role of head coach for West Ham United by Rebecca’s ex-husband Rupert Mannion (Anthony Head).

Roy and Keeley’s relationship had ups and downs during season 2, paving the way for further conflict in season 3.

Fans were also wondering if they were sensing possible sparks between Ted and Rebecca.
