For the third season of For All Mankind, Joel Kinnaman will reprise his role as NASA astronaut Edward Baldwin. As Detective Stephen Holder in AMC’s crime drama series The Killing, Kinnaman was nominated for a Saturn Award in the Best Supporting Actor category.

His other notable film and television credits include Rick Flag in the DC superhero film Suicide Squad and Governor Will Conway on Netflix’s House of Cards remake.

Shantel VanSanten, who plays Karen Baldwin, Edward Baldwin’s wife, is also returning for Season 3. The teen drama One Tree Hill featured VanSanten as Quinn James, who you might recognize.

VanSanten has also appeared in films like Final Destination and Something Wicked, as well as television shows like Shooter and The Flash on The CW.

For All Mankind Season 3

The Plot of Season 3 of “for All Mankind”

With its season 2 finale, For All Mankind ranks among my favorite television shows of 2013. With two beloved characters being killed off and an entirely new storyline being set up for season 3, it’s a gut-punch of a finale.

In the finale, both on Earth and on the moon, the conflict between the United States and Russia reaches a critical point. When the Marines and Russian cosmonauts clash at Jamestown, a nuclear reactor is in danger of exploding.

It is imperative that Gordo (Michael Dorman) and Tracy (Sarah Jones) fix the problem to save everyone on the base and keep the moon habitable for thousands of years.

They wrap themselves in duct tape and sprint across the moon’s surface in order to survive the harsh conditions. Success comes at a price: they die in the process of accomplishing their goals It’s a fitting end for a pair of heroes who died together.

A Russian spacecraft is the subject of an argument between Ed (Joel Kinnaman) and Sally (Ellen Wroe) while in lunar orbit.

On Apollo, Danielle (Krys Marshall) defies orders and docks with the Soyuz, despite the orders of Apollo’s commanding officer.

The image of her shaking hands with a Russian cosmonaut was broadcast around the world, and President Reagan was moved to make peace with the Soviet Union after seeing it.

Margo (Wrenn Schmidt) receives a phone call from her Soviet counterpart Sergei after the emotional funerals of the Stevenses. In reality, he’s working with agents from the CIA in order to make Margo an ally!

The camera then pans to Mars, where a pair of boots crunches through the red soil. It’s 1995, and I’m still in high school.

Apple TV Plus says that season 3 is about a time when “the Red Planet becomes the new front in the Space Race not just for the U.S. and the Soviet Union, but also for an unexpected new entrant with a lot to prove and even more at stake.”

Each character’s ambitions for Mars will put them at odds with one another, and their allegiances will be put to the test. It’s a recipe for disaster.
