In literature, even the most lovely surroundings might hide some dark secrets. “Summertime Render,” a new anime series, is based on this premise. You won’t want to miss this Anime if you appreciate a suspenseful mystery with plenty of jumps scares and gore, as well as a healthy dose of “Shonen” style action.

The Summertime Render anime is an adaptation of Yasuki Tanaka’s manga series “Summer Time Rendering”, which ran from October 2017 to February 2021 and was released in 13 volumes. The initial statement was made in the manga’s 139th chapter, so fans didn’t have to wait long to find out if the manga will be adapted into an anime.

Shinpei Ajiro is a young man who moved in with his childhood best friends, sisters Ushio and Mio Kofune after his parents died while he was young. When Shinpei travels to his birthplace of Wakayama City on the island of Hitogashima to attend Ushio’s burial, the story begins.

Soon after, he learns that a lot of the locals are afflicted with a mysterious “Shadow illness,” which is linked to both Ushio’s and his parents’ deaths. As Shinpei delves deeper into the riddle, he finds that he can return in time and stops Ushio’s death–but he must navigate many time loops so as to do it.

Who Are the Voice Actors of Summertime Render Anime?

We are coming closer to understanding the voice actors of the anime after only two episodes of the summertime render anime. Natsuki Hanae, who voiced the lead in the critically acclaimed series Tokyo Ghoul, will play the main character of Shinpei Ajiro, and Anna Nagase as Ushio Kofune.

Youko Hikasa, who plays Mio in the massive K-On franchise, is another renowned voice actor playing the role of Hizuru Minakata in the series. Meanwhile, Saho Shirasu, who also voiced Charlotte in The Detective is Already Dead, will play Mio Kofune.

What Studio Is Working on Summertime Render Anime?

Animation studio OLM will produce Summertime Render anime. The anime also includes a box office collection of cast members, which adds to the excitement around the series. Odd Taxi and Komi Can’t Communicate are two of OLM’s more recent works, and they’re also responsible for several of the Pokemon series and films.

Ayumu Watanabe, who just directed season one of Komi Can’t Communicate, will direct the Summertime Render anime. Hiroshi Seko, who played the same role in the recent success of Jujutsu Kaisen, is in charge of series composition.

Where to Watch the Summertime Render?

The Summertime Render has been licensed by Disney+, but there has been no word on when it will be released for worldwide audiences, other than on the Disney+ site in Japan. The show is planned to be a 25-episode series that will air across two seasons. It is unknown whether it will be a continuous production or a split-cour production.

We’re hoping that Disney will follow the same release schedule for Summertime Render anime same as series on Crunchyroll and current Netflix releases, where episodes are released weekly. However, we’ve seen before that anime that are licensed globally are only available in their entirety after the series’ run in Japan is completed, which could take months.

This “shadow sickness” murder mystery has the potential to make the Summertime Render anime a one-of-a-kind production. With only two episodes released, the anime has provided shonen fans with the ultimate horror and suspense experience, even the Manga fans are also admirers of the animation.
