Since the classic anime Death Note was airing, it’s almost ten years ago, but will fans ever see a second season? In 2006 and 2007 Death Note was initially broadcasted on Tsugumi Ohba’s manga series and led by Tetsuro Araki, Director of Attack On Titan. The anime is a story about Light Yagami, a high-school student who has the capacity to kill any person whose name is inscribed in the strange notebook.
Death Note remained one of the most popular animes ever following its release, even 14 years later. It’s currently the second-largest anime rating (IMDb) and is one of the world’s 30 highest-ranking TV shows. The Anime from 2006 is also Tsugumi Ohba’s best adaptation of the manga series by Takeshi Obata. The manga started in 2004 and ended in 2006 with its 12th volume. The author-illustrator finally came back in February 2020, though, to complete his famous story.
The immensely popular Death Note manga series stayed dead over 14 years despite heavy petitions for rebirth. The last volume of the manga published in July 2006 completed the series by finishing Light Yagami’s storyline with the lead character (and life). Fans were therefore unsure whether or not manga artists would develop a sequel.
Death Note Season 2 Release Date
It had a quite satisfactory conclusion as far as Season 1 was concerned. Through his 37 episodes all bases of the original manga were covered. There is therefore little to investigate in terms of the true novel. Death Note is therefore very unlikely to return with a new season.
We have some great news for you, however! A new story for “Death Note” will be released somewhere in 2021 in Japan’s Jump SQ Magazine.
What to expect from Death Note Season 2’s plot if ever made?
Season 1 stories follow a boy, Light Yagami, whose book ‘Death Note’ is actually owned by a shinigami named Ryuk. The book is indeed a death book, as the name suggests. You merely need to know the person you’re killing’s face and name. The light uses the book to kill a number of murderers. By killing all criminals, he sought to make the world crime-free.
Unable to determine who, behind the killing, had been appointed a special investigation team, Kira was hired to uncover the culprit, with the Head Officer named L. Kira, he named the assassin.
The second dead note of another Shinigami named Rem, was founded by a girl named Meso She did the same as the boy, and became his girlfriend later. Both found L in your the job a barrier, so they murdered him.
A lot happened later which shouldn’t be revealed but all we have to say, is that there’s really not much to talk about here and the thing is that we don’t think that there would be anything to add to this in season 2, it’s merely a thought and we can’t predict anything but as far as this storyline is concerned, it’s kind of dead. So expect a new story to be built around season 2.
