Chris Garbutt and Rikke Asbjoern made the animated series Pinky Malinky for Nickelodeon and Netflix. It can be watched online. It is based on Garbutt’s 2009 animated short with the same name, which was made by Cartoon Network Studios Europe, which is now called Hanna-Barbera Studios Europe.
It’s the first time Nickelodeon and Netflix have worked together, and it’s also the first Nicktoon made just for Netflix.
The show is about Pinky Malinky, a 12-year-old middle school student who looks like a hot dog and is voiced by Lucas Grabeel.
He and his two human friends, Babs Byuteman (Diamond White) and JJ Jameson are trying to move up the social ladder (Nathan Kress). Before the first episode aired on January 1, 2019, the show was picked up for a second season.
Season 2 came out on April 22, 2019, and Season 3, which was the last, came out on July 17, 2019. After the third season, the show was cancelled. Pinky Malinky was nominated for the 2020 Daytime Emmy Awards on May 21, 2020, for “Best Animation Editing.”
In 2015, Nickelodeon gave the show the go-ahead to make 20 more episodes. The show was supposed to start on Nickelodeon in 2016, but it has been put off many times.
On June 21, 2018, it was announced that Pinky Malinky would only be available on Netflix and that the show would be back for a second season.

Parents Should Know the Following About This Show
Parents should know that Pinky Malinky is a series about three best friends, one of whom is a hot dog, who try to solve problems in their town and improve their social standing in junior high school.
There is a lot of silly stuff that doesn’t make sense in the real world, and it’s all meant to be funny. You can expect to hear names like “dingbats” and “doofus” and funny comments about Pinky’s wiener body. On the plus side, he never gives up, even when things don’t go his way.
On the minus side, he tends to run the show at home, and his parents don’t have the guts to stand up to his crazy ideas. The best thing about this show is how it sometimes uses different animation styles in a creative way.
