Yona of the Dawn Season 2: When Will It Release? Latest Updates 2022!

Yona of the Dawn Season 2

Fans of the anime “Yona of the Dawn” (“Akatsuki no Yona”), based on Mizuho Kusanagi’s manga, have been wondering for several years whether the one-season series (so far) will be renewed.

The show aired for 24 episodes from 2014-to 2015 and had three original video animation specials (OVAs) before it was canceled in 2016. The plot is a female-oriented shoujo anime about the red-haired only princess of Kouka and the daughter of the pacifist King II.

Forbidden to marry her crush Su-Won, the son of her father’s brother (who does not share her feelings), she is unaware that her kingdom is about to undergo a violent political coup — at the hands of Su-Won.

As a result, she flees with her friend Son Hak, discovering the unsavory truth about the kingdom she thought was flourishing.

This leads her on a quest to find the legendary Four Dragon Warriors in order to reclaim her father’s kingdom, which leads her into adventures involving pirates, human trafficking, and other dangers. Here’s everything you need to know about a possible second season.

Will Yona of the Dawn Have a Season 2?

There is currently no word on whether Yona of the Dawn will return for a second season. Yona of the Dawn fans have speculated that the show’s second season may not be renewed due to poor merchandise sales, and the show’s social media pages are no longer promoting the series.

With 36 volumes of the ongoing manga series already published, there is enough material for a second season in which viewers could learn more about the legend of the Dragon Warriors, and delve deeper into Hak and Yona’s relationship.

And reach a satisfying conclusion regarding Yona’s reclaiming of the throne from Su-Won, among other things.

While the first season has been on the air for nearly three years, there have been no new developments in the anime series, making the possibility of a second season appear highly unlikely at this time. Fans of the series, on the other hand, will continue to hope for the story to be continued.

What Is Yona of the Dawn’s Story About?

Thousands of years ago, the Crimson Dragon God was the first to discover the nation of Kouka. He descended from the heavens in the form of a human to become the Crimson Dragon King.

As he kept watch over his kingdom, he discovered that the humans who lived there were evil and had an insatiable desire for power. The Crimson Dragon King was able to restore power and prosperity to the kingdom of Kouka with the help of four Dragon Gods.

Following the death of the Crimson Dragon King, the four Dragon Warriors split up, forming five tribes across the realm.

The four Dragon Warriors are about to embark on an exciting new journey. Princess Yona has had a relatively sheltered upbringing as the only daughter of a pacifist king. Her life, on the other hand, is turned upside down when her father is murdered by Su-Won, a childhood friend.

Su-Won seizes Kouka’s throne, forcing Yona and her bodyguard, Hak, to flee the kingdom for safety. Yona and Hak seek help from the four Dragon Warriors in order to reclaim her rightful place on the throne and save her country.

The first season of the anime focuses solely on the selection of the four Dragon Warriors. With the exception of the final dragon, Zeno, who appears only in the series’ final episode, each warrior has their own story arc that helps to develop their character and personality.

Several fans expressed dissatisfaction with Zeno’s lack of a personal arc in the series; however, a two-part OVA detailing his background was later produced.

Furthermore, the series’ conclusion leaves viewers wondering whether Yona will ever be successful in stopping Su-Won and whether her relationship with Hak will develop into something more. Despite the fact that the episode’s ending was less than ideal, it gave viewers hope that another season was in the works.

Who Is in the Cast?

The first season of “Yona of the Dawn” is available on Hulu in both dubbed and subbed versions, with the dubbed version featuring voice dubbing performed by American actors and the subbed version featuring subtitles.

The series also has a very good English dub, with experienced voice actor Monica Rial playing the title character, Yona herself. Christopher R. Sabat plays Son Hak, while Clifford Chapin plays Yun, Micah Solusod plays Su-Won, and Ian Sinclair plays Gija.

It’s difficult to predict what will happen with such a long gap between seasons, but there shouldn’t be any major changes to the voice cast, according to expectations. If this is the case, the actor would most likely be replaced by another available voiceover artist at the time.

However, it is too soon to tell what kind of casting issues might arise if this series decides to return in the future. Fans will hopefully hear something soon, whether positive or negative.
